Those who intend to follow Youth Week 2026 in Aracaju need to consider a change in the dates announced by City Hall. On July 3, during the planning of the event, the municipality announced that the program would take place from August 9 to 15. In the most recent official release located, however, the period appears as 10 to 15 August.
Thus, until August 7, 2026, the safest information is that Youth Week begins on Monday, August 10, and continues until Saturday, the 15th. There is, in the most recent official update consulted, no sufficient basis to keep Sunday, the 9th, as the first day of the event.
What had already been announced for Youth Week
The plan released by City Hall on July 3rd provided for professional qualification, sport, culture, health, leisure and citizenship actions. The organization is coordinated by the Municipal Secretariat for Youth and Sports (Sejesp), in partnership with the Municipal Training for Work Foundation (Fundat), and involves other areas of the municipal administration. Students from the municipal network are among the public cited by City Hall.
In the sports area, the forecast announced was for tournaments between 10 and 14 August, with sports played by students from the municipal network. The Municipal Health Department had also announced vaccination actions for eligible audiences and health promotion activities, while Funcaju would participate with artistic workshops and cultural activities.
For August 12, City Hall announced the Municipal Young Apprentice Forum, aimed at discussions on professional qualification, inclusion, employability and learning, with expected participation of public managers, business representatives and experts.
The closure announced for August 15th is a special edition of the Discover Aracaju project, under the responsibility of the Municipal Secretariat of Tourism (Setur), with music, gastronomy, culture and leisure.
These items were included in the official July planning. As there was a subsequent change in the general period of the event, they must be checked in the definitive schedule before publishing times, specific locations or rules of participation.
Youth Square appears as the event location
In the July announcement, City Hall indicated Praça da Juventude as the location for the program. The space is located in the Farolândia neighborhood and its redevelopment opened on March 27, 2026, together with a technology hub also focused on training and digital inclusion.
As the most recent official publication accessible in the search confirms the new period from August 10th to 15th, but does not fully expose the details of the agenda in its indexed version, it is prudent to check whether all activities remain concentrated in Praça da Juventude or whether there will be actions at other points.
What needs to be reconfirmed before publishing
As the schedule is close and has undergone at least one date update, the operational data must be checked again on the official channels of the City of Aracaju and Sejesp, preferably on the day of publication:
- the complete schedule per day, with start and end times;
- the exact locations of each activity and possible actions outside the Youth Square;
- need to register, age group, number of places or documents to participate;
- modalities, times and criteria of sports tournaments;
- eligible public, documents and schedules of vaccination actions;
- time and location of the Young Apprentice Municipal Forum and the final schedule of Discover Aracaju;
- possible inclusion of activity on Sunday, August 9th, which changes the period currently informed.
For those who intend to participate, the practical recommendation is to consult the most recent official publication before leaving home. At this time, August 10 to 15 is the most up-to-date range released by City Hall, while the details announced in July serve as a reference and should not replace the definitive agenda.
