NASCAR 26 officially launches on September 18, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The main change today is straightforward: the Standard Edition becomes available to everyone, while the three days of early access that started on Sept. 15 are no longer a practical benefit of the Gold Edition. Gold remains on sale with the base game and the Season Pass.

The game is digital-only. According to the official FAQ, Standard costs US$59.99 and Gold costs US$79.99 at the official US reference prices. In Brazil, stores may use different local prices depending on platform and region.

What unlocks on Sept. 18

  • Standard Edition: the base game officially becomes available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
  • Gold Edition: it still includes the base game and Season Pass, but its three-day early access has already served its purpose because that window began on Sept. 15.
  • Pre-order bonuses: eligible purchases made before launch included a US$5,000 Career bonus, 500 Career Reputation Points, and an exclusive Kyle Larson paint scheme. The Steam page states that the pre-purchase offer ends on the official launch date.
  • September DLC: the first monthly pack is already listed in storefronts. On Xbox Brazil, the September Pack is listed at R$48.95.

iRacing described the Sept. 15 period as early access for Gold buyers and confirmed Sept. 18 as the Standard release date. From today onward, the purchase decision is therefore less about “playing early” and more about whether the Season Pass content matters to you. See the iRacing announcement.

The Season Pass costs US$24.99 separately. At the official US prices, Standard plus the Season Pass totals US$84.98, while Gold costs US$79.99. That is a US$4.99 difference in favor of the Gold bundle for buyers who already plan to get the pass. The FAQ also says the Season Pass saves about US$15 compared with buying the four monthly packs separately.

On Xbox Brazil, using the prices displayed on Sept. 18, Standard plus the Season Pass totals R$414.90 versus R$390.95 for Gold, a difference of R$23.95. That does not make Gold automatically the right choice: the savings only matter if you actually want the extra content.

What is included in the Season Pass

The pass covers four DLC packs with monthly releases in September, October, November, and December 2026. According to the official FAQ, the announced package includes:

  • more than 200 paint schemes;
  • additional firesuits;
  • VIP employees for Career Mode;
  • US$10,000 in Career bonus money;
  • 1,000 Career Reputation Points.

On Xbox and Steam, Gold or Season Pass owners receive the associated DLC automatically when it becomes available. On PlayStation, the FAQ instructs players to open the PlayStation Store and add the DLC to their library, where it should appear at no extra cost for pass owners.

The core game is the same in both editions

Standard and Gold provide access to the same base game. NASCAR 26 includes the four national series featured in the title: NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and ARCA Menards Series. Modes include Career, Quick Race, Championship, Multiplayer, and The Chase.

iRacing highlights dynamic track technology, revised driving physics, a new tire and braking model, the Peak Performance training mode, graphics and lighting improvements, new replay cameras, a particle system, burnout celebrations, and cross-play. Cross-platform multiplayer works across Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and Steam, while consoles also offer a console-only cross-play option.

Which edition fits each type of buyer

Standard Edition: fits buyers who want the full launch game, its main modes, and cross-play without committing to the Season Pass cosmetic content and Career bonuses.

Gold Edition: is aimed at players who already know they want all four 2026 DLC drops. On Sept. 18, Gold’s value is the included Season Pass, not early access.

Standard now, Season Pass later: is an option for buyers who prefer to try the base game before deciding on extras. The total cost may be slightly higher than buying Gold immediately, but it lowers the upfront spend and postpones the DLC decision.

Before you buy

  • There is no PS4 or Xbox One version.
  • Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 are not supported.
  • The FAQ says Steam Deck can run the game, but it is not officially supported.
  • The game is digital-only, with no physical disc edition.
  • Online multiplayer on console requires the platform’s relevant subscription. The PlayStation Store lists PS Plus, while the Microsoft Store lists Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate.
  • On PC, the Steam page requires 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, at least 16 GB of RAM, and 65 GB of available storage. The recommended specification raises that to 32 GB of RAM and 100 GB of storage.

For anyone buying on September 18, the practical takeaway is clear: Standard unlocks the base game today; Gold provides that same game plus the Season Pass. Early access is no longer an advantage, and the former pre-order bonuses should be treated as benefits for purchases made during the eligible window, not as permanent content in either edition.
