What had been scheduled on Rua XV
Before the cancellation, City Hall had announced free programming from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Praça Osório and the Bondinho da Leitura. The schedule included cultural performances, children's activities, leisure, public services, environmental actions, a pet adoption fair, food and assistance for residents.
The main stage was scheduled to feature Flashmob Dia do Idoso at 10 a.m., Blokids at 11 a.m., O Blokinho at noon, Ana Decker in Djavamos e Let’s Go Bananas at 1 p.m., the Universidade Positivo Hackathon awards at 1:40 p.m. and Orquestra à Base de Corda with Demônios da Garoa at 3:30 p.m. The Ônibus Palco schedule included a flashback dance steps class at 10 a.m., Família Folhas at 11:30 a.m., Movimento da Cultura Flashback - Dança Comigo at 12:30 p.m. and Os Barbacas at 2 p.m.
After the street event was canceled, City Hall explicitly confirmed only the 3:30 p.m. concert at a new venue. The update does not mention relocation of the other attractions. To avoid an unnecessary trip, readers should treat the previous schedule as superseded unless a new specific official notice is published.
Vaccination, microchipping and the pet adoption fair
The original program scheduled flu vaccination from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Health Tent, along with information about dengue, Saúde Já, smoking cessation, Dentistry activities and auriculotherapy. What about the 500 tree seedlings?
The distribution of 500 seedlings was also part of the original Domingo no Centro program. The general schedule placed the Meio Milhão de Árvores tent from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In a separate official article about the environmental program, City Hall said Sunday's distribution would begin at 9 a.m. on Avenida Luiz Xavier, on the Rua XV pedestrian area.
There were therefore two official time references published before the cancellation. In addition, the Meio Milhão de Árvores notice did not, when checked on Sunday, include an update explaining what will happen to those 500 seedlings after the event cancellation. The prudent approach is not to assume the distribution will continue at the same place and time without new confirmation.
Road closures: the traffic notice is still visible, but it predates the cancellation
The traffic plan published on September 18 scheduled closures on Rua Ébano Pereira, Rua Voluntários da Pátria and Avenida Luiz Xavier during Domingo no Centro. The Municipal Traffic notice indicated an operation from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with traffic officers in the area.
That notice was published before the event was canceled. At the time this article was updated, the traffic information was still online and URBS also continued to display a notice about a detour for Line 979 - Turismo because of the Avenida Luiz Xavier closure. Since no later official notice was found explicitly saying whether those closures and detours were canceled or maintained, the mobility information should be treated as awaiting operational confirmation.
Anyone driving through downtown or using the Tourism Line should check Curitiba's live Traffic Bulletin and the URBS notices shortly before leaving.
