Tensei Elf, short for Majutsu wo Kiwamete Tabi ni Deta Tensei Elf, Moteamashita Jumyo de Ikeru Densetsu to Naru, now has a narrower release window: the TV anime is scheduled to begin airing in January 2027. The September 20, 2026 announcement also included the first two minutes of episode 1, released as an official preview.
In English, the series is presented as The Reincarnated Elf Left on a Journey to Master His Magic and With His Extra Lifespan Became a Living Legend. So far, the production has not announced the exact premiere date, the Japanese TV channels or the streaming platforms that will carry the series.

The biggest update is the calendar. When the adaptation was announced in June, the public release target was simply 2027. The production has now confirmed January as the broadcast month.
What the first two minutes show
The released video is the opening of the first episode and serves as a prologue to Liese's journey. Official descriptions emphasize a fantasy opening whose imagery and music foreshadow the encounters, farewells and long journey ahead of the character.
This matters because the footage is not merely a promotional teaser assembled from unrelated scenes. It is identified as the beginning of episode 1, giving viewers an early look at the finished series presentation before broadcast. The preview is available through the Crunchyroll News report and the official special page.
Who Liese and Minori are
The story follows Liese, a man whose ordinary life ends in an accident and who is reincarnated in another world as an elf with a 1,000-year lifespan. Regretting that he feels he did not achieve anything meaningful in his previous life, he decides to use his new existence to leave proof that he lived.
Liese's path later crosses again with Minori, a girl whose life he once saved. The premise combines otherworld fantasy with a journey shaped by differences in lifespan, meetings and farewells. Daiki Yamashita voices Liese, while Hana Hishikawa voices Minori.
Studio and main staff
Yuki Inaba serves as both director and series composer. Animation is produced by Studio Palette. The adaptation is based on the work by Monsho Sakakibara, with kanco providing the art for the manga version published by Starts Publishing.
Those names had already been revealed with the initial adaptation announcement. The September update does not change the main staff that had been announced, but it adds a more precise release window and actual footage from episode 1.
What has not been announced yet
January 2027 is confirmed, but the production has not provided a specific premiere day. The information released through September 20, 2026 also does not include a confirmed list of Japanese broadcasters or international streaming services.
- the exact date of episode 1;
- Japanese channels and broadcast slots;
- streaming platforms outside Japan;
- episode count and season length;
- opening and ending theme songs.
Those points should remain listed as pending until another official update. What is already confirmed is the January 2027 premiere window, the core staff, the two lead cast members and the release of the opening section of the first episode.
