Fortaleza will have nine public health clinics open on Saturday and Sunday, September 19 and 20, 2026. According to City Hall, these clinics will provide multi-vaccination services, including influenza vaccination, and their pharmacies will remain open to dispense prescribed medicines. The service list published for the weekend states that the nine clinics will operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition, two clinics will open only for multi-vaccination: Mattos Dourado, in Edson Queiroz, and Geraldo Madeira Sobrinho, in São João do Tauape. At these two locations, the announced hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both days.

Which nine clinics are open on September 19 and 20

The table below brings together the clinic, neighborhood, address, hours and type of service announced for the weekend. The nine main clinics combine health care, multi-vaccination and pharmacy service for dispensing prescribed medicines.

Which clinics are vaccination-only locations

There are also two extra clinics that are not part of the nine facilities with broader weekend service. They will operate exclusively for multi-vaccination:

  • Mattos Dourado, in Edson Queiroz: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Geraldo Madeira Sobrinho, in São João do Tauape: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

This distinction matters for anyone looking for a pharmacy or another health service. For those needs, the reference locations are the nine clinics in the table, not the two extra vaccination-only sites.

Which vaccines will be available

The official Fortaleza City Hall announcement confirms multi-vaccination and explicitly mentions the influenza vaccine. The September 17 notice does not list every vaccine that will be available this weekend. For that reason, it is not safe to assume a specific list beyond what was announced.

If your goal is to update a vaccination record, the multi-vaccination service can be used to check which doses are indicated according to age and vaccination status. For a specific vaccine other than influenza, it is advisable to confirm availability with the clinic before traveling.

Will the pharmacies be open?

Yes. City Hall states that pharmacies at the nine clinics will be open to dispense prescribed medicines. Because this service is for prescribed medicines, bring the corresponding prescription.

The two extra clinics, Mattos Dourado and Geraldo Madeira Sobrinho, were announced only for multi-vaccination. The notice does not state that pharmacy service will be available at these two locations during the special weekend hours.

What to do in an urgent case

The weekend clinics do not replace the emergency care network. The official guidance is to seek a 24-hour Emergency Care Unit, known locally as UPA, or a municipal hospital that provides urgent care.

How to choose the right location

  • For vaccination, pharmacy service and health care, choose one of the nine clinics in the table, open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • For multi-vaccination only, Mattos Dourado and Geraldo Madeira Sobrinho are also options, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • For urgent care, use a 24-hour UPA or a municipal hospital that provides emergency services.
  • If you need to collect medicine, check that you have the prescription before leaving home.

City Hall confirmed the weekend operation on September 17. The detailed list of the nine clinics, addresses and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. hours was compiled in the service information published for September 19 and 20.
