In 2026, the most direct way to recharge Mais Aracaju by phone is to use RecargaPay. The official system update published on July 27 says the purchase can be paid by Pix or credit card, with no bank fee, and that validation can be done at a terminal or directly on the bus. For those who prefer cash, the network also maintains commercial agents and in-person service.

The most important point is to separate two stages: buying the credit and validating that credit on the card. An online purchase may be approved in the app, but the balance only becomes ready for use after the card is tapped on a connected validator. The latest Mais Aracaju guidance is that the card is updated on board or at terminals as soon as the payment has cleared.

How to recharge Mais Aracaju through RecargaPay with Pix

In the RecargaPay app, go to the transit recharge area, choose the option to add or recharge a card and select Aracaju. Then enter the Mais Aracaju number shown on the back of the card, choose the amount and proceed to payment. The official July 2026 publication states that payment can be made via Pix or credit card.

This means that, for an ordinary day-to-day recharge, there is no need to look for a physical location just to pay in cash. Pix works within the RecargaPay flow. After payment is confirmed, you still need to tap the card on a validator to transfer the pending recharge to the card.

Does a RecargaPay recharge have a fee?

According to Mais Aracaju, online recharge through RecargaPay is made without a bank fee. RecargaPay's current page for the card also advertises fee-free recharge by Pix, wallet balance or credit card. In practice, for a simple credit purchase, the recharge amount should not receive an additional bank charge merely for using this channel.

It is useful not to confuse this information with promotions, cashback, installments or other commercial conditions in the app, which may change. If the app offers a method different from the normal recharge, check the final amount before confirming. What is clearly documented in 2026 is the absence of a bank fee for the online recharge described by Mais Aracaju.

Where to recharge in person in Aracaju and the metropolitan region

The July 27, 2026 update reports more than 75 commercial agents distributed across 24 locations in Greater Aracaju. At these points, recharge is made in cash and is also presented as having no bank fee. The agents are located at integration terminals and along transit corridors, including on Sundays and holidays.

The list released in that update includes the eight integration terminals: Atalaia, Campus, Centro/Fernando Sávio, DIA, Maracaju, Mercado, Marcos Freire and Rodoviário Governador José Rollemberg Leite, known as Rodoviária Nova.

It also cited 16 strategic points: Guajará, Santa Maria, Centro in the area around Restaurante Padre Pedro, João Alves Filho, Francisco Porto, Rodoviária de São Cristóvão, Barra dos Coqueiros, Shopping Jardins, Tijuquinha, Bugio, Conjunto Jardim, Barão de Maruim, Parque dos Faróis, Augusto Franco and Fernando Collor, with two separate points in Bugio. Because agent locations and schedules may change, it is worth checking the “Pontos de Vendas” option on the Mais Aracaju website before leaving home.

The system also maintains in-person service at the CEAC on Rua do Turista, in Centro. For those already on the way to work or school, commercial agents are usually the simplest alternative when they have cash and prefer to leave the location with the recharge completed.

When the credit becomes usable after an online recharge

The latest official guidance points to a fast release. Mais Aracaju states that all buses in the Aracaju and Metropolitan Region system have online validators. These devices update pending recharges and credits purchased online as soon as payment is cleared, without the former three-business-day wait for on-board recharge.

In the July 27 publication, the operator says passengers can validate the recharge either at a terminal or directly on the bus. The same update describes validation as immediate and reports use of RecargaPay even during the trip itself, when a passenger notices that the balance is insufficient.

So why does RecargaPay still say up to 48 hours?

There is a real discrepancy between current pages here. RecargaPay's page dedicated to Mais Aracaju still instructs users to validate at a terminal and mentions a period of up to 48 hours. The app's help center also recommends waiting up to 48 hours after payment confirmation and says that updating on the bus may depend on the vehicle's connection.

To decide what to do, it makes sense to prioritize the most recent operational information from Mais Aracaju itself, published in July 2026: payment cleared, card tapped on an online validator, and updating on the bus or at a terminal. RecargaPay's up-to-48-hour period should be understood as a contingency and support window when synchronization does not happen immediately, not as a mandatory wait for every recharge.

If you need the credit for an immediate trip, the best practice is to complete payment, check that the purchase was approved and tap the card on the validator. If the balance does not update on the bus, try a fixed terminal validator. If the problem persists, keep the receipt and contact Mais Aracaju or RecargaPay support.

Pix, in-person point or another channel: which should you choose?

For those who want speed and do not intend to use cash, RecargaPay with Pix is the simplest route and has the advantage of requiring no trip to a recharge location. Afterward, simply validate on the bus or at a terminal. For those who prefer to pay in cash, do not have access to the app or want to resolve it in person, commercial agents and CEAC are the most direct alternatives.

The official Mais Aracaju website also shows other recharge routes, such as Loja Virtual for Escolar or Pré-Pago, AracajuCard, Piu and PagowAju. However, the July update that details the absence of fees and fast validation concentrates its explanation on RecargaPay and the agent network. For that reason, it is not safe to assume that payment method, service fee and timing are identical across all other channels; check the conditions shown before completing a purchase outside these two flows.

What changed in practice in 2026

The current scenario is simpler than older instructions that can still be found online. Between January and April 2026, more than 41,000 passengers made more than 209,000 recharges through RecargaPay, and this volume represented 87% of the online sales reported by Mais Aracaju for the period. The figure helps explain why mobile recharge became a central part of the operation.

At the same time, pages that retain older deadlines or more conservative guidance are still circulating. To avoid getting stuck between different versions, use this rule: the online purchase must be approved or cleared; validation happens by tapping the card on a validator; in 2026, Mais Aracaju reports validation on board and at terminals; if the update does not occur, RecargaPay allows a window of up to 48 hours and recommends preferring fixed terminal validators.

For a recharge without surprises, check the card number before paying, keep the receipt and validate the credit before relying on it as your only means of boarding. This sequence resolves most questions about where to pay, how much the transaction costs and when the balance can actually be used.
