Registration and re-registration for Mais Aracaju Escolar for the second half of 2026 began on August 3. The procedure is completed online through the AracajuCard User Portal, but the path differs depending on whether the student already has the card. There are also two deadlines that should not be confused: August 30 for current benefit users to update their information, and December 30 for regularization and new requests.
The card allows eligible students to pay 50% of the urban public transportation fare. For that reason, before starting a request, it is important to correctly identify whether the case is registration, re-registration, or another service, such as a replacement card due to loss or theft.
Registration or re-registration: which procedure should you use?
Registration is the request for the first Mais Aracaju Escolar card. It is intended for students who do not yet have the card and want to start using the half-fare benefit. In 2026.2, new students may submit their request until December 30.
Re-registration is the update process for students who already have the card and need to keep their school and personal information valid. For current users, AracajuCard set August 30 as the update deadline. Anyone who does not complete the procedure by that date will be unable to purchase half-fare credits until the situation is regularized, but may resolve the pending issue until December 30.
Loss, theft, or the need to replace the card does not turn the case into a new registration. In that situation, the correct service is a request for a replacement card, which AracajuCard provides separately.
Who can use Mais Aracaju Escolar
The official card page states that the benefit is intended for students aged seven or older who are regularly enrolled in educational institutions accredited by AracajuCard.
It is also necessary to live in Aracaju or in the metropolitan area covered by the service, including Nossa Senhora do Socorro, São Cristóvão, and Barra dos Coqueiros.
The card is personal and non-transferable. Its purpose is to allow students to pay half of the fare on urban public transportation, subject to the system's use and identification rules.
Which documents must be submitted
The basic documentation listed by AracajuCard for registration and re-registration is an ID document (RG), CPF, and proof of residence. The files are uploaded during the online request using a computer or mobile phone.
University students have an additional requirement: the class schedule for the current semester. The service page explains that the document must identify the student and weekly attendance and, as a rule, include the institution's stamp and the signature of an authorized representative. UFS students are exempt from the stamp and signature requirement on the class schedule.
Students who do not have proof of residence in their own name or in their parents' names should follow the guidance available in the AracajuCard frequently asked questions. The organization states that a copy of the enrollment form may replace proof of residence when the document contains the student's personal data and address.
Before submitting the request, it is important to check that the documents are legible and that the information entered in the form matches what appears in the files. Incomplete or inconsistent information may require corrections and delay completion of the process.
How to submit the request through the User Portal
The first step is to access the AracajuCard User Portal and choose the student registration or re-registration service according to the student's situation. The student then fills in personal, school, and address information and uploads the required documents.
After submission, students who are not at university must ask their educational institution to confirm enrollment. The school takes part in the process through the School Portal, where it can validate the student's personal information, enrollment, and reported attendance. University students are exempt from this institutional confirmation step.
Once the school step has been completed, the student should follow the document review in the User Portal itself. The current AracajuCard registration and re-registration pages state that the review may take up to five business days. Following the status is important because any pending issues and notifications appear during the process.
What happens after re-registration is approved
Students who already have Mais Aracaju Escolar do not need to request a new card simply because they are updating their registration. After re-registration is approved, the student becomes eligible to purchase half-fare credits again under the benefit rules.
This helps avoid a common misunderstanding: re-registering means updating the user's status, not physically replacing the card. A new copy is only required when there is a specific reason, such as loss, theft, or a problem with the card.
First card: photo, in-person service, and pickup
For students registering for the first time, online approval does not end the process. After the request is approved, the student must go to the AracajuCard unit at the CEAC on Rua do Turista for the photo capture used to produce the card.
The registration page lists the unit at Rua Laranjeiras, 317, Centro, with service on business days from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and instructs the student to bring an ID document (RG) at this stage. The first card is free and, according to AracajuCard, becomes available within up to two business days after the photo registration procedure is completed.
Because in-person service and appointment rules may be adjusted, it is advisable to confirm the instructions shown on the AracajuCard website before traveling, especially if the request is being completed close to the final deadline.
Understanding the two 2026 deadlines
August 30 is the deadline that directly affects students who already use Mais Aracaju Escolar. The update must be completed to avoid interruption of the ability to purchase half-fare credits. It is not the absolute last day to resolve the situation: anyone who misses this date may still regularize the registration until December 30, but will be unable to purchase the benefit until re-registration is approved.
December 30, in turn, is the final date stated for students who do not yet have the card to submit a registration request in 2026. The same date also serves as the regularization deadline for students who already had the card, missed the August deadline, and need to complete the update.
In practice, current users should treat August 30 as the main date. Students requesting the first card have a longer window, but there is no advantage in leaving the request until the end of the year because document review, school confirmation when applicable, photo registration, and card pickup still need to take place.
Where school confirmation fits into the process
Confirmation by the educational institution is not merely a formality. Through the School Portal, the institution validates the information submitted and may approve or reject the request. For that reason, students who have already uploaded their documents should not assume that the request is complete before checking whether the school has confirmed enrollment.
University students are the exception and do not need to request this confirmation through the School Portal. For this group, the class schedule for the current semester is an essential part of the documentation and serves as proof of the academic connection required in the process.
How to avoid delays in the request
The safest approach is to complete each stage and check the status before moving on to the next. First, choose correctly between registration and re-registration. Then review the RG, CPF, address, and uploaded files. If school confirmation is required, request validation without waiting until the end of the deadline. Finally, follow the User Portal until the review appears as approved or until a correction requirement is displayed.
For a first card, only plan the visit to the CEAC after the request has been approved. For re-registration, do not confuse submitting the request with completing the process: what
matters is that the process has been validated so that half-fare purchases remain available.
What to do now
If you already have Mais Aracaju Escolar, the priority should be to complete re-registration by August 30, 2026. Prepare your RG, CPF, and proof of residence, check whether you need to provide a class schedule, submit the request through the User Portal, ask the school for confirmation when that step is required, and follow the review status.
If you do not yet have the card, register by December 30. After approval, proceed to the in-person photo registration and first-card pickup stage. Keeping track of the request in the User Portal is what prevents a pending issue from being missed between document submission and the effective release of the benefit.
