Power Rangers Beast Morphers: complete story recap through the finale

From the creation of Grid Battleforce to the final showdown with Evox/Venjix, revisit the main arcs, Rangers, twists, and the team's fate.

Cinco Rangers com trajes vermelho, azul, amarelo, dourado e prateado em um centro tecnológico futurista, diante de uma cobra digital vermelha e projeções de animais.

Warning: this recap contains spoilers for the entire series. Power Rangers Beast Morphers follows the Grid Battleforce team across 44 episodes released in two seasons between 2019 and 2020. The story begins in Coral Harbor, where the organization learns to turn energy from the Morphin Grid into Morph-X, a powerful energy source that also becomes the foundation for a new generation of Rangers.

How the Beast Morphers team is created

Grid Battleforce plans to create three Rangers by combining Morph-X with animal DNA. The original candidates are Blaze for the Red powers, Ravi Shaw for Blue, and Roxy for Yellow. During the activation, however, a sentient virus called Evox invades the system, corrupts the Morph-X, and creates evil avatars of Blaze and Roxy. Their real counterparts fall into comas, while Ravi avoids the same fate.

Devon Daniels, the son of Coral Harbor's mayor, and Zoey Reeves, a Grid Battleforce employee, enter the lab during the crisis and help Ravi. To keep Evox from taking control of the Morphin Grid, scientist Nate Silva transfers the powers to the people who are available: Devon becomes the Red Ranger with cheetah DNA, Ravi becomes the Blue Ranger with gorilla DNA, and Zoey becomes the Yellow Ranger with jackrabbit DNA. That is how the core Beast Morphers lineup is formed.

Each of them is also paired with a Beast Bot connected to a Zord: Cruise partners with Devon, Smash with Ravi, and Jax with Zoey. The bond between the Rangers, Beast Bots, and Morph-X technology becomes a central part of both the battles and daily life inside Grid Battleforce.

Season one: Evox, Blaze, Roxy, and the war for Morph-X

After being forced out of Grid Battleforce's system, Evox is trapped in the Cyber Dimension with the Blaze and Roxy avatars. There they meet Scrozzle, a robotic inventor who begins serving Evox. Because the villain needs large amounts of Morph-X to return to Earth and reach the Morphin Grid, his agents start stealing the substance and creating Robotrons from objects and machines. These enemies usually have giant counterparts, the Gigadrones, which fight the Rangers' Zords.

Much of the first season alternates these missions with personal conflicts. Devon has to prove he can take responsibility despite his strained relationship with his father; Ravi hides his feelings for Roxy while she remains in a coma; Zoey tries to show that technology should solve real problems for ordinary people; and Nate, although he is the scientific brain of the team, wants to be seen as more than someone who stays in the lab.

Nate and Steel join the fight

The biggest shift comes when Scrozzle builds a Cybergate to bring Evox back and forces Nate to prepare a robotic body for the virus. Nate sabotages the plan: he uses mantis DNA to become the Gold Ranger and stops Evox's transfer. The robotic body, meanwhile, absorbs Nate's human DNA and beetle DNA, becomes sentient, and turns into Steel, the Silver Ranger.

Nate and Steel begin fighting alongside Devon, Ravi, and Zoey. Steel's unusual condition — a robot carrying part of Nate's DNA — is not only a comedic and family element; it later becomes an important clue to Evox's weakness.

How season one ends

In the final arc, the Roxy and Blaze avatars are destroyed, allowing the real Roxy and Blaze to wake up. Before that happens, however, the villains manage to transport an entire Morph-X tower and Devon into the Cyber Dimension. Mayor Daniels discovers that his own son is the Red Ranger and joins the rescue mission.

Evox gains a robotic body and seems finally ready to leave the Cyber Dimension. To stop him, the Rangers trigger the destruction of the stolen tower. The blast eliminates the Blaze avatar and destroys Evox's new body while the team escapes through the dimensional gateway. The victory is incomplete, though: part of Evox's energy crosses the portal and secretly takes refuge inside Mayor Daniels. The season ends with the heroes believing they won while Evox survives inside Devon's father.

Season two: Evox's secret return

In the second season, Evox uses Mayor Daniels as a host. Living inside a human body limits and weakens the virus, but it also lets him hide close to the Rangers. Scrozzle remains active and creates Robo-Blaze and Robo-Roxy, robotic versions based on the originals' DNA. Unlike the season-one avatars, these bodies can be rebuilt after being destroyed.

Eventually, the Rangers discover that Evox is back and connected to the mayor. The conflict becomes more than a defense against Robotron attacks: Devon also has to save his father without giving the enemy a permanent advantage. The team expands its arsenal, including the Beast-X King Zord, while Evox tries to regain enough power to control the worldwide network of Morph-X towers.

The Dino Rangers crossover

One of the season's biggest arcs connects Beast Morphers to the franchise's wider legacy. Evox and Scrozzle encounter villains tied to Dino Charge and revive Goldar in the stronger Goldar Maximus form. The conflict brings the Grid Battleforce Rangers together with heroes from Mighty Morphin, Dino Thunder, and Dino Charge. Jason Lee Scott returns as the original Red Ranger and joins the battle against Goldar Maximus. Beyond the crossover appeal, the story reinforces that Beast Morphers exists within the same multiverse and continuity as several earlier teams.

The truth about Evox: he is Venjix

Near the end, the series reveals its most important connection to Power Rangers RPM. Evox is not simply a new virus: he is an evolved form of the Venjix Virus, the enemy that nearly wiped out humanity in the RPM dimension. Years before Beast Morphers, Venjix had remained hidden inside a Cell Shift Morpher. When Nate was still a child, he experimented on that Morpher with a combination of Morph-X and snake DNA without knowing the virus was inside. The experiment released Venjix into Grid Battleforce's system and altered its code, creating Evox.

The discovery devastates Nate, who blames himself for the threat. The team contacts Doctor K, Venjix's original creator in RPM. She helps Nate understand that guilt cannot replace the responsibility to fix the problem. Together they study the virus's code and develop an antivirus weapon. Nate uses that knowledge to destroy Robo-Blaze, but Evox takes advantage of the distraction to seize control of the global Morph-X network.

The final battle and Steel's sacrifice

In the finale, Evox concentrates the Morph-X from the towers and moves to absorb energy directly from the network. Zoey reveals to her mother that she is the Yellow Ranger, and the Rangers head into their last battle. Steel tries to strike Evox with the antivirus weapon, but the virus absorbs the attack and destroys his body. Steel dissolves into energy in front of Nate and the others, leaving the team convinced that he is dead.

Evox then grows to gigantic size, empowered by the accumulated Morph-X. The team realizes there is a vulnerability that had appeared twice before: Evox struggled to remain inside Mayor Daniels and was unable to possess Steel because of the human DNA within him. Nate concludes that human DNA can corrupt the virus's code.

The four human Rangers channel Morph-X through their own bodies and transfer their DNA into the Beast-X King Megazord's attack. The human energy corrupts Evox/Venjix's code and destroys the virus for good. With the threat over, the Morph-X returns to the Morphin Grid. The Grid then restores Steel — this time in a fully human body, fulfilling his wish to experience life as a real person.

Where the team ends up after the victory

  • Devon Daniels: one year later, he becomes Commander of Grid Battleforce, taking over Shaw's operational leadership role.
  • Ravi Shaw: he remains the Blue Ranger and continues his relationship with Roxy; his mother is promoted to general.
  • Zoey Reeves: she remains a Ranger and works with Nate on alternative energy for Coral Harbor after the city stops using Morph-X as a civilian power source.
  • Nate Silva: he remains the Gold Ranger, a scientist, and Steel's brother, now carrying the experience of directly facing the consequences of his old experiment.
  • Steel: he becomes human, keeps the ability to morph into the Silver Ranger, and starts working as an actor.
  • Blaze and Roxy: both survive after their evil copies are destroyed; in the epilogue, Blaze works as Steel's stunt double and Roxy is seen with Ravi.
  • Scrozzle: he escapes the main battle but is captured in the epilogue by Ben and Betty with help from Colonel Mason Truman, once again linking Beast Morphers to the world of RPM.

What Beast Morphers ultimately resolves

The complete arc makes Beast Morphers more than a local struggle over Morph-X. The series starts with a team formed by accident during a digital invasion and ends by resolving a threat that began years earlier in RPM. Devon, Ravi, and Zoey begin as replacements for a lineup that failed to launch; Nate and Steel expand the team; and Evox's true identity reframes the entire conflict as the final chapter of Venjix's story.

The ending also resolves the main personal arcs: Devon earns his father's trust and rises to lead Grid Battleforce; Nate faces his guilt for releasing Evox; Steel gets his wish to be human; Ravi gets Roxy back; and Zoey continues her drive to solve problems by helping develop new energy sources. The finale therefore works both as the conclusion of the Beast Morphers team and as a direct continuation of a story that began in Power Rangers RPM.
