Junket Bank will no longer premiere on October 5, 2026. The production team postponed the start of the broadcast because of video-production scheduling issues and said a new date will be announced once it has been decided. The official postponement notice did not replace October 5 with another day or provide a new release window, so any calendar that still lists that premiere should now be treated as outdated.

The delay, however, does not erase everything that had already been announced. The anime project remains active, and the official website still lists the main staff, studio, cast and promotional materials released before the schedule change. The clearest way to read the situation now is to separate what no longer applies, what is still confirmed and what still needs a new confirmation.

October 5 is no longer a valid premiere date

The October 5 date had been announced in late August as the start of the Japanese broadcast. The production later said the beginning of the broadcast would be changed. Crunchyroll's report on the postponement also notes that the series had been scheduled to premiere on October 5 before the change.

In practical terms, October 5 should no longer remain in reminders, seasonal calendars or “when does it premiere?” pages. There is also no basis right now for simply moving the premiere to another week in October. The official notice only says that a new broadcast period will be announced once a decision has been made.

It is also too early to assume Junket Bank will still premiere in 2026

Before the postponement, Junket Bank was part of the October 2026 lineup. After the change, the production has not confirmed whether the new premiere will still happen in 2026 or move to 2027. With no official new window, any month or quarter suggested outside the production's channels should be treated as an estimate or rumor, not as a replacement for October 5.

The same caution applies to broadcast times and scheduling details linked to the previous plan. A postponement does not automatically mean a network or time-slot change, but those details should only be treated as final when they are included again in the new schedule announcement.

Why the anime was delayed

According to the official statement, the change was caused by video-production scheduling issues. The team said it needed additional production time to better capture the original work's world and appeal and to deliver the animation at the intended quality level.

It is important not to turn that explanation into something more specific than the production disclosed. The notice does not identify a single technical problem, does not point to a particular episode and does not provide a new forecast. The confirmed fact is that the production needs more time.

What remains confirmed about the staff and studio

The postponement was not accompanied by any announcement of changes to the main staff. The official site still lists:

  • Original work: Ikko Tanaka, whose manga is serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump;
  • Director: Seiji Kishi;
  • Series composition: Makoto Fukami;
  • Character design: Masanori Shino;
  • Music: Taku Iwasaki;
  • Animation production: CUE.

Shueisha had also confirmed the TV adaptation in March 2026 in its official anime announcement. What has changed now is the timing of the premiere, not the existence of the adaptation.

The announced cast also remains listed

The characters and voice actors revealed so far are still on the anime's official page. The confirmed names include:

  • Shin Mafutsu: Soma Saito;
  • Akira Mitarai: Rikuya Yasuda;
  • Keiichi Shishigami: Wataru Hatano;
  • Reiji Murasame: Daisuke Hirakawa;
  • Haruto Hinagata: Koki Uchiyama.

This makes it useful to separate two things that often get mixed together when a show is delayed: the release date and production information. A date can become invalid without the cast, director or studio ceasing to be confirmed.

Previously released materials are still official, but they do not confirm a new date

The anime's website still hosts artwork, character information and animation stills released before the postponement. Those materials remain useful for understanding the adaptation's direction and which characters have been presented, but they should not be used as evidence that the premiere will happen on a specific date.

The same rule applies to trailers, artwork and older posts that may still reference October: the material can remain official while containing schedule information that has been superseded by the latest notice.

What is still not confirmed

Until the production issues its next update, the points that directly depend on the calendar remain open:

  • the new premiere date;
  • a new release window, month or season;
  • whether the premiere will still happen in 2026;
  • the exact weekday, time and broadcast slot from the previous plan;
  • any new distribution calendar that depends on the broadcast date.

No announced change is not the same thing as a reconfirmation. For scheduling information, the latest notice should be the reference, and right now it only says that the new broadcast period will be announced later.

Where to follow the new Junket Bank premiere date

The production identified two places for future updates: the official Junket Bank website and the official social accounts, including @junketbank_pr. When the new date is announced, it is worth checking whether the notice also confirms the broadcaster, time slot and any other programming changes.

  1. Remove October 5 as the premiere date.
  2. Do not replace the old date with third-party rumors or estimates.
  3. Wait for an official announcement with a new date or release window.
  4. After the rescheduling, reconfirm broadcast and distribution details before setting reminders.

For now, the most accurate status is straightforward: Junket Bank remains a confirmed anime project in production, but it has no defined premiere date. October 5 is off the calendar; the staff, studio, cast and previously announced materials remain officially published.
