The 2026 Copa Libertadores Femenina groups are set. Corinthians, Palmeiras and Cruzeiro were placed in different sections, and those groups also determine which positions from the neighboring groups can appear on their path to the quarter-finals. The competition will be played in Ecuador from October 15 to 31, with 16 clubs split into four groups of four. Each team plays three group-stage matches in a single round-robin, and the top two in each group advance.

The September 14 draw placed defending continental champions Corinthians in Group A, Palmeiras in Group B and Cruzeiro in Group C. CONMEBOL's official publication still lists the two Colombian qualifiers simply as “Colombia Representative 1” and “Colombia Representative 2” because the clubs had not yet been decided at the time of the draw. Naming Colombian clubs before the domestic qualification is settled would therefore be speculation.

Group D completes the bracket structure with Colombia Representative 1, Libertad (PAR), Nacional (URU) and Universidad de Chile (CHI). The official group list was published by CONMEBOL.

How qualification works

Each group contains four teams and every club faces the other three once, so each side plays three matches. The top two teams from Groups A, B, C and D reach the quarter-finals, producing eight qualifiers. From that point on, the tournament continues as single-match knockout football through to the final.

That format makes group position important: advancing is not the only issue, because finishing first or second determines which position from the neighboring group supplies the quarter-final opponent. The official draw material confirms the overall format, while the 2026 competition regulations detail the final-stage bracket.

The possible route for Corinthians and Palmeiras

Groups A and B cross in the quarter-finals. The Group A winner faces the Group B runner-up, while the Group B winner faces the Group A runner-up. This creates two objective paths for each Brazilian club without predicting where anyone will finish:

  • Corinthians finish 1st in A: they face the Group B runner-up.
  • Corinthians finish 2nd in A: they face the Group B winner.
  • Palmeiras finish 1st in B: they face the Group A runner-up.
  • Palmeiras finish 2nd in B: they face the Group A winner.

A Corinthians-Palmeiras quarter-final is therefore possible if both advance in opposite positions — one as group winner and the other as runner-up. If both finish in the same position in their respective groups, they do not meet immediately in the quarter-finals; each instead faces the opposite finishing position from the other group.

The possible route for Cruzeiro

Group C crosses with Group D. If Cruzeiro finish first in C, they face the Group D runner-up. If they finish second, they face the Group D winner. Because the Colombian representative in Group D was not yet identified in the official draw publication, the full list of potential opponents still contains one unnamed berth.

  • Cruzeiro finish 1st in C: they face the Group D runner-up.
  • Cruzeiro finish 2nd in C: they face the Group D winner.

The most useful way to track the group stage is therefore not only to watch the Brazilian clubs' standings, but also the races in the groups that cross with them: B for Corinthians, A for Palmeiras and D for Cruzeiro.

What is confirmed — and what is still pending

  • Confirmed: the tournament will be played in Ecuador from October 15 to 31, 2026.
  • Confirmed: 16 clubs, four groups of four and three group-stage matches per team.
  • Confirmed: the top two in each group advance to the quarter-finals.
  • Confirmed: single-match knockout ties from the quarter-finals onward.
  • Confirmed: Corinthians in Group A, Palmeiras in Group B and Cruzeiro in Group C.
  • Still pending on September 14: the names of the two Colombian representatives and the detailed match dates and kick-off times.

Coverage published after the draw reported that the Colombian championship was still at the semi-final stage, with its champion and runner-up set to fill the “Colombia 1” and “Colombia 2” berths. The same report noted that detailed match dates and times had yet to be released. Updates can be followed through the draw coverage and, above all, CONMEBOL's official channels.

This is the scenario that can already be read from the draw and the regulations: the groups are set, the qualification rule is clear and the Brazilian clubs' route to the quarter-finals depends only on their final group position — without needing to predict scores or name favorites.
