The Premier League's October 2026 schedule received further changes after the European calendars were confirmed. In addition to the broadcast selections announced in August, six matches in the month were moved because of commitments in the UEFA Europa League, UEFA Conference League or UEFA Champions League.

In practical terms, matches that were on Saturday moved to Sunday, while Aston Villa v Fulham stayed on 31 October but was pushed into the evening. The Premier League's revised schedule brings together broadcast and European competition changes, and a 1 September update added further moves after UEFA schedules were confirmed.

Which October matches changed because of European competitions?

Using the base fixture list released in June, which set 15:00 UK time as the standard for weekend matches without a specific kick-off, these are the six October matches directly affected by European commitments:

MatchBeforeAfterReason
Bournemouth v Sunderland17 Oct, 15:00 BST18 Oct, 14:00 BSTBournemouth and Sunderland play Europa League matches on 15 Oct.
Brighton v Crystal Palace17 Oct, 15:00 BST18 Oct, 14:00 BSTCrystal Palace play in the Europa League on 15 Oct.
Crystal Palace v Newcastle24 Oct, 15:00 BST25 Oct, 14:00 GMTCrystal Palace play in the Europa League on 22 Oct.
Liverpool v Brighton24 Oct, 15:00 BST25 Oct, 14:00 GMTBrighton play in the Conference League on 22 Oct.
Manchester United v Bournemouth24 Oct, 15:00 BST25 Oct, 14:00 GMTBournemouth play in the Europa League on 22 Oct.
Aston Villa v Fulham31 Oct, 15:00 GMT31 Oct, 20:00 GMTAston Villa visit Barcelona in the Champions League on 3 Nov.

UEFA's calendars confirm the sequence. On 15 October, Bournemouth host Sturm Graz, Sunderland visit Torreense and Crystal Palace visit Lyon in the Europa League. On 22 October, Bournemouth host Milan and Crystal Palace visit Beşiktaş in the Europa League, while Brighton travel to Jablonec in the Conference League. Aston Villa then visit Barcelona on 3 November in the Champions League.

Why does Liverpool v Brighton appear as a later amendment?

The initial live TV selections for October were published on 17 August. At that point, Liverpool v Brighton was still listed for Saturday, 24 October. After the Conference League schedule was confirmed, the Premier League announced on 1 September that the match would move to Sunday, 25 October at 14:00 GMT.

There is a date inconsistency in the Premier League's 1 September note: its explanation refers to a Brighton European commitment on 22 September. UEFA's official calendar confirms Jablonec v Brighton for 22 October, exactly the Thursday before the new Liverpool v Brighton slot. Given the sequence of dates, the September reference in the league note appears to be an editing error.

What is the revised Premier League schedule for October 2026?

Below is the revised schedule for matches played in October. Up to 24 October, the United Kingdom is on BST. From 25 October, times switch to GMT. Brasília is four hours behind during BST and three hours behind during GMT.

How do the changes affect the European clubs' run of fixtures?

The main effect is to avoid clubs that play on Thursday having to return to Premier League action on Saturday. Bournemouth, Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Brighton now have league matches on Sunday in the weekends immediately after their European games on 15 and 22 October.

  • Bournemouth: Europa League on 15 Oct, Premier League on 18 Oct, Europa League on 22 Oct and Premier League on 25 Oct.
  • Sunderland: Europa League on 15 Oct, Premier League on 18 Oct, Europa League on 22 Oct and Premier League on 25 Oct.
  • Crystal Palace: Europa League on 15 Oct, Premier League on 18 Oct, Europa League on 22 Oct and Premier League on 25 Oct.
  • Brighton: Conference League on 15 Oct, Premier League on 18 Oct, Conference League on 22 Oct and Premier League on 25 Oct.
  • Aston Villa: host Fulham at 20:00 GMT on 31 Oct and visit Barcelona in the Champions League on 3 Nov.

The changes do not remove the fixture load, but they reorganise recovery time. For supporters planning tickets, travel or viewing, the practical approach is to check the schedule again near the date because the Premier League itself notes that fixtures remain subject to further change.

Official sources for further changes

The main reference is the Premier League's revised October and November schedule. The league also maintains the full list of 380 fixtures for the 2026/27 season. To verify the European reason behind each change, UEFA's official competition calendars are the most direct source.
