How to convert NFL times to Brasília for this week
For Week 2, the NFL displays Eastern U.S. kickoff times as EDT. On these dates, Brasília is one hour ahead, so the conversion used in the table is simply ET plus one hour.
- 1:00 p.m. ET → 2:00 p.m. in Brasília;
- 4:05 p.m. ET → 5:05 p.m. in Brasília;
- 4:25 p.m. ET → 5:25 p.m. in Brasília;
- 8:15 p.m. ET → 9:15 p.m. in Brasília;
- 8:20 p.m. ET → 9:20 p.m. in Brasília.
This shortcut applies to the dates in this week. At other points in the season, the relationship between U.S. Eastern time and Brasília can change, so it is worth converting again after U.S. seasonal clock changes.
Thursday opens the week with Lions at Bills
Detroit Lions at Buffalo Bills opens Week 2 on September 17. The NFL sets kickoff at 8:15 p.m. ET, which is 9:15 p.m. in Brasília, and lists the game on Prime Video. The league also identifies the matchup as the opening game of its 2026 Thursday Night Football slate.
Sunday has three afternoon blocks before Sunday Night Football
Sunday contains 14 games. The first block starts at 2:00 p.m. Brasília time with eight simultaneous matchups. Two games follow at 5:05 p.m., then three at 5:25 p.m. The night closes with Colts at Chiefs at 9:20 p.m. Brasília time, the NFL's Week 2 Sunday Night Football matchup.
For viewers trying to follow more than one game, grouping the schedule by time window helps avoid mixing the U.S. times used by the league with local time in Brazil. It also makes clear that 4:05 p.m. ET and 4:25 p.m. ET are separate kickoff windows.
Monday Night closes Week 2
New York Giants at Los Angeles Rams closes the week on Monday, September 21. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET, or 9:15 p.m. in Brasília, with ESPN listed on the NFL schedule. The official Monday Night Football page also keeps the matchup as the Week 2 game.
Where to check for changes before kickoff
For a last-minute check, use the official Week 2 page. The Thursday Night Football, Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football pages confirm the three prime-time windows. The NFL also summarizes selected service availability in its 2026 NFL+ viewing guide.
Factual update: September 16, 2026. Brasília times are calculated from the official EDT kickoff times published by the NFL for Week 2.
