People who need to register with or update Brazil's Cadastro Único social registry in Maceió will have four new Rota da Cidadania stops from September 23 through September 26, 2026. Service will be provided at the city's Areninhas community sports facilities from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as part of the Brota na Grota program. The initiative will provide Cadastro Único services as well as assistance related to Cartão CRIA, the Senior Citizen Card and the Identification Card for People with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
To avoid an unnecessary trip, the key step is to separate the documents according to the service you need. The list published by Maceió's Municipal Secretariat for Social Development, Early Childhood and Food Security, known as Semdes, is specific to this mobile service and, for Cadastro Único, asks families to bring originals and copies of documents for everyone who lives in the household.
Schedule for Cadastro Único at Maceió's Areninhas
| Date | Areninha | Neighborhood or area | Hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| September 23, Wednesday | Areninha Eustáquio Gomes | Cidade Universitária | 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. |
| September 24, Thursday | Areninha Bom Parto | Bom Parto | 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. |
| September 25, Friday | Areninha Carminha | Benedito Bentes | 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. |
| September 26, Saturday | Areninha Arivaldo Maia | Jacintinho | 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. |
The city published the sequence of Areninhas and neighborhoods, but the September 21 notice does not provide a full street address for each location. Anyone unfamiliar with the listed facility should confirm the location before leaving home. Semdes lists the phone number (82) 3312-5900 on the city portal.
Which services will be available
Rota da Cidadania will offer Cadastro Único registration and record updates, as well as guidance on federal social programs. The municipal notice refers to services related to Bolsa Família and the Continuous Cash Benefit, known in Brazil as BPC. The Senior Citizen Card, Autism Identification Card and Cartão CRIA will also be available.
The roles should be kept separate: Cadastro Único service adds or updates information in the registry used by several programs. It does not mean that a benefit is automatically approved. Each program has its own eligibility rules and may require further review.
Documents for Cadastro Único registration or updates
For the Areninhas service, Semdes instructs residents to bring:
- Brazilian identity card, RG;
- CPF taxpayer number;
- birth certificate or marriage or divorce certificate;
- voter registration card;
- work card;
- proof of residence;
- vaccination card for children up to 7 years old;
- school statement for children and teenagers;
- contact phone number.
The municipal guidance is to bring originals and copies of the documents for everyone who lives in the household. This local list is broader than the minimum set of documents described in the federal government's general Cadastro Único rules. For this specific mobile service, following the Semdes list reduces the risk of missing information during the interview.
Documents for Cartão CRIA
The required documents differ depending on whether the service is for a pregnant woman or a child.
For a pregnant woman
- NIS social identification number;
- the pregnant woman's CPF;
- prenatal booklet;
- SUS health card.
For a child
- mother's RG;
- child's birth certificate;
- mother's NIS;
- SUS health card;
- child health booklet.
Documents for the Identification Card for People with Autism Spectrum Disorder
For the Autism Spectrum Disorder Identification Card, the city notice asks for:
- two 3x4 cm photos;
- a copy of a medical report with ICD-10 F84 or ICD-11, issued by a neurologist or psychiatrist;
- a copy of the RG or birth certificate of the person with autism;
- a copy of the RG or driver's license of the responsible adult when the applicant is a child or teenager;
- a copy of the responsible adult's proof of residence.
What about the Senior Citizen Card?
The city includes the Senior Citizen Card among the Rota da Cidadania services, but the notice announcing the Areninhas schedule does not provide the document list for this service. Rather than assuming requirements that were not published for this event, the practical option is to confirm them in advance with Semdes at (82) 3312-5900.
How to prepare before going
- Check which Areninha is serving residents on the day you plan to go.
- Separate documents by household member and bring originals and copies for Cadastro Único service.
- If you need Cartão CRIA or the Autism Identification Card, follow the service-specific list instead of bringing only the Cadastro Único documents.
- Arrive early enough to organize your documents and receive guidance during the 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. service window.
- If you need the Senior Citizen Card or have questions about documentation, confirm directly with Semdes before traveling.
