The exhibition of the 7th International Videodance Festival of Rio Grande do Sul (FIVRS) at Museu de Arte do Paço (Mapa) in Porto Alegre has been extended through October 9, 2026. Admission is free, visiting hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Historic Center, and the selected works can also be watched online on the festival's YouTube channel.

How long the Porto Alegre exhibition runs and where to visit

The Porto Alegre City Hall reported on September 23 that the exhibition will remain at Museu de Arte do Paço through October 9, 2026. The published address is Praça Montevidéu, 10, in the Historic Center. Admission is free, and visiting hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The extension lengthens the in-person run at Mapa. The previous schedule published by Fundação Ecarta had the museum presentation ending on September 20. For anyone planning an in-person visit, the key detail is that the City Hall's updated service information lists opening hours from Monday through Friday.

What visitors will find at Museu de Arte do Paço

FIVRS 2026 brings together 45 videodance works, selected from 249 submissions from 22 countries and 23 Brazilian states. The festival presents different forms of creation at the intersection of dance and audiovisual media, with works that explore the body as image and movement and address social, cultural, economic, environmental and political issues.

At Museu de Arte do Paço, the exhibition occupies a room equipped with four projectors in different proportions. According to the City Hall, visitors can follow four works simultaneously or watch individual pieces using headphones.

How to watch the videodance works online

People who cannot visit the museum can access the official FIVRS YouTube channel. The City Hall states that the selected works can also be watched online, allowing audiences outside Porto Alegre to follow the exhibition and revisit the productions without depending on the museum's visiting hours.

Porto Alegre and Pelotas have different end dates

It is important not to mix up the two exhibition locations. At Museu de Arte do Paço in Porto Alegre, the exhibition runs through October 9. In Pelotas, the festival is also being shown at Museu de Arte Leopoldo Gotuzzo (Malg), where visits continue through October 18. The Pelotas date does not extend the deadline for the Porto Alegre exhibition.
