UFC 331 weigh-in: everyone makes weight, Van and Pantoja hit 125 lb and final card has 12 fights

Official weigh-in confirms all 24 athletes made weight, Van and Pantoja at 125 lb, and a 12-fight card after Ortega vs. Moicano was removed.

The official UFC 331 weigh-in ended with a straightforward answer for anyone checking whether the card would face another late change: all 24 athletes in the remaining 12 bouts made weight. In the main event, Joshua Van and Alexandre Pantoja both weighed 125 lb, the exact championship limit for a flyweight title fight. Their title bout is therefore official for September 19, 2026, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

In the co-main event, Arman Tsarukyan weighed 156 lb and Mauricio Ruffy 155 lb. Because the bout is not for a title, the lightweight division allows a one-pound allowance above the standard 155 lb mark. The same principle applies to the other non-title bouts. The UFC weigh-in results and MMA Fighting's coverage confirm that none of the scheduled athletes missed weight.

Van and Pantoja made the championship limit

The main event has a stricter rule than ordinary non-title fights. In a flyweight championship bout, both the champion and challenger must weigh no more than 125 lb. Van and Pantoja each hit that exact figure. That removes any weight-related eligibility issue and keeps the title at stake for both fighters.

The rematch comes after their first meeting ended prematurely at UFC 323. This time, the scale added no obstacle to the matchup, which remains the event's headline fight.

Tsarukyan vs. Ruffy is official as well

Arman Tsarukyan weighed 156 lb and Mauricio Ruffy 155 lb. Since this is a non-title lightweight bout, the operational limit includes the standard one-pound allowance, taking the maximum to 156 lb. Both fighters were therefore within the rule, and the five-round contest remains the co-main event.

What the final UFC 331 card looks like

The week's biggest change happened before the weigh-in. On September 14, the UFC announced that Brian Ortega was out due to injury and that his bout with Renato Moicano had been removed from the card. Moicano was reassigned to the October 31 event to face Tom Nolan. That left UFC 331 with 12 fights.

The official event card retains five bouts on the main card and seven preliminary fights when the preliminary segments are considered together. The September 18 weigh-in did not cause another cancellation or opponent change: every athlete who remained on the card made the required limit.

  • Alonzo Menifield vs. Iwo Baraniewski, light heavyweight
  • Gable Steveson vs. Sean Sharaf, heavyweight

  • Ryan Gandra vs. Ozzy Diaz, middleweight

What the weigh-in confirmed

The key takeaway for anyone following the UFC 331 update is that none of the 24 athletes on the current card missed weight. Van and Pantoja made the exact championship limit, Tsarukyan and Ruffy stayed within the allowed non-title lightweight limit, and the other ten fights also cleared the scale without a miss.

The relevant event configuration is therefore 12 fights, already accounting for the removal of Ortega vs. Moicano. Unless a later official announcement changes that, the weigh-in itself did not alter the card that reached Friday.
