Global Citizen Festival 2026 takes place on Saturday, September 26, on Central Park's Great Lawn in New York City. The current official lineup includes Ms. Lauryn Hill & Wyclef Jean, Lenny Kravitz, John Legend, Lainey Wilson, Shaboozey, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, Victoria Monét, YEONJUN, YOSHIKI, and a special performance by Alicia Keys & Friends. Hugh Jackman will host, with announced appearances by Rachel Brosnahan, Gayle King, Bill Nye, IZA, Jordan Fisher, Katie Couric, Lais Ribeiro, Marcus Samuelsson, Naomi Watanabe, Nomzamo Mbatha, PJ Sin Suela, and Vladimir Duthiers.
For anyone planning the festival in its final week, the key point is that 2026 combines three official ways to get in: free-ticket drawings entered with points earned through Global Citizen actions, a limited points-plus-donation ticket option, and official ticket sales through Ticketmaster. The organization also prohibits resale of free, donated, or promotional tickets.

How to earn a free ticket through actions
Most Global Citizen Festival tickets remain tied to the action-based model. The official process works like this:
- Download the Global Citizen app or create an account on the platform.
- Complete Journeys and Sprints, which group actions such as signing petitions, reading content, sharing messages, writing to public officials, volunteering, and other campaign activities.
- Earn points for completed activities.
- Use those points to enter available drawings for pairs of free festival tickets.
- Check the app regularly because drawings, deadlines, and availability can change.
Global Citizen says free tickets are awarded in pairs through these drawings. Entering a drawing does not mean a ticket is guaranteed.
How Global Citizen Loyalty affects entries
In 2026, the organization also uses a loyalty system based on active days during the previous 30 days. Each day a user takes action in the app counts toward a loyalty level.
| Level | Active days | Published festival benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Supporter | 2 | Access to Points Shop rewards and one entry to win festival tickets. |
| Explorer | 5 | Up to five entries for Global Citizen Festival. |
| Champion | 10 | Unlimited festival entries and access to premium rewards. |
| Legend | 20 | Unlimited entries, with the first entry counting twice, plus additional benefits. |
These levels increase the number of entry opportunities, but they do not turn a drawing into a guaranteed ticket.
What Instant Win: Donation Tickets means
Another 2026 addition is Instant Win: Donation Tickets. Under this option, a user completes actions to earn points, uses 300 points to claim a code while supplies last, and then redeems the code through Ticketmaster. Redemption requires a $25 charitable donation per ticket, plus fees, and the user can select one or two tickets.
Tickets through this route are limited. The official event page listed releases on August 13 and 25 and September 8 and 15. Because those dates have already passed, anyone trying this route during festival week should check the app for current code availability rather than assume inventory remains.
Official paid tickets are also available
For 2026, the festival also offers official paid tickets. The ticket page lists General Admission, Global VIP, Premium VIP, and Ultimate VIP, with prices and availability subject to change. Global Citizen directs these purchases to Ticketmaster.
The September 18 update also mentions an offer for the first 2,000 General Admission buyers who use PayPal, with FastPass access subject to availability. Because it is a limited offer, it should be confirmed at checkout.
To avoid problems, use only channels linked by Global Citizen. The organization states that resale of free, donated, or promotional tickets is prohibited and that those tickets may be voided if listed for unlawful resale.
Important festival-day rules
- The event is rain or shine.
- Tickets are digital and are stored in the attendee's Ticketmaster account.
- Save the ticket to the phone's digital wallet before arriving because cellular service may be limited in the park.
- Printed tickets will not work because the barcode is dynamic.
- No re-entry is allowed.
- Festival areas are standing room unless accessible seating accommodation has been approved.
- The bag policy allows clear bags up to 12 x 12 x 6 inches or non-clear clutches/fanny packs up to 4.5 x 6.5 inches.
What to do now
- Open the Global Citizen app and check which drawings and rewards are still available for your account.
- If you want to try for a free ticket, complete Journeys and Sprints to earn points and use those points on available drawings.
- If Instant Win appears, confirm code availability and the donation cost before redeeming it.
- If you prefer a guaranteed ticket and inventory is available, use the official sales page that routes to Ticketmaster.
- After receiving your ticket, save it to your digital wallet and review entry rules before heading to Central Park.
