The 2027 Grammy cycle already has its main dates set. As of September 17, 2026, the entry period had ended and the next milestone was First Round Voting, scheduled for October 12 through October 22. Nominees will be announced on November 16, Final Round Voting will run from December 10, 2026 through January 7, 2027, and the ceremony will take place on February 7, 2027, in Los Angeles. The edition also introduces an important change for U.S. viewers: the live show will be simulcast on ABC, Disney+ and Hulu.

2027 Grammy calendar: what has happened and what comes next

The Recording Academy published the official schedule for the 69th Grammy Awards. The product eligibility period ran from August 31, 2025 through August 28, 2026. The Online Entry Period then ran from July 7 through August 21, 2026. Both stages had already closed by September 17, 2026.

For viewers following the season, the most useful distinction is between the two voting rounds. The October round takes place before the nominees are announced and helps determine who reaches the November 16 list. Final Round Voting begins after the nominees are known and determines the winners.

Who votes at the Grammys and who can only submit entries

According to the Recording Academy, only Voting Members can vote in the two Grammy voting rounds. Registered Media Companies, Professional Members and Grammy U participants may have roles in the entry process under the applicable rules, but they do not vote in the rounds that determine nominees and winners.

The Academy describes the Grammys as a peer-voted music award. In practice, that means voting decisions are reserved for members who meet the requirements for Voting Membership and take part in the organization's official process.

What changes in the voting system for 2027

For the 2027 awards, the Recording Academy also announced Ballot Plus, an option for Voting Members with verified expertise across different genres. Members who opt in and have their professional credits verified may vote in up to 15 peer-related categories regardless of Field. Members who do not opt in, miss the selection window or do not meet verification requirements receive the standard voting structure described by the Academy.

This update does not change the core rule about who can vote: the process remains limited to Voting Members. It changes how certain qualified members can distribute their votes across categories.

When will the 2027 Grammy nominees be announced?

The official nominees list will be released on November 16, 2026. Until then, favorites lists, media predictions and fan forecasts are not the same as an official list of nominees. The November milestone closes the nominee selection phase and leads into Final Round Voting in December and January.

What changes in U.S. Grammy broadcasting

The February 7, 2027 ceremony will air live from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and will be simulcast on ABC, Disney+ and Hulu. The Recording Academy said it will be the first Grammy ceremony to air on ABC since 1972.

The change is part of a 10-year agreement between the Recording Academy and Disney beginning in 2027 and scheduled to run through 2036. Disney described the partnership as the Grammys' first new home in 50 years and said the deal also includes additional Grammy-branded music specials for the company's platforms.

For U.S. audiences, the main practical difference is simultaneous distribution through a broadcast television network and two streaming platforms in the Disney ecosystem. A simulcast does not mean that all commercial access conditions are identical. Plans, availability and subscription requirements may vary, so viewers should check platform terms closer to the ceremony.

How to follow the cycle without missing the next steps

  • October 12 through October 22, 2026: follow First Round Voting, which comes before the nominee list is set.
  • November 16, 2026: check the official nominee list published by the Recording Academy.
  • December 10, 2026 through January 7, 2027: Voting Members take part in Final Round Voting.
  • February 7, 2027: watch the ceremony live in the United States on ABC, Disney+ or Hulu, subject to availability and access terms.
