If you plan to attend Palcos: SP 2026, the practical rule is straightforward: performances are free, and tickets must be picked up at the theater box office 1 hour before each performance. The schedule published by the City of São Paulo runs from September 3 to October 3, 2026, with 20 performances.

This guide was checked on September 3, 2026. Because times and programming may be updated, it is worth checking the official page of the Municipal Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy on the day of the performance.

How to pick up free tickets

The official instruction is to pick up the ticket at the theater box office 1 hour before the performance starts. In practical terms, pickup for an 8:00 p.m. performance begins at 7:00 p.m.; for a 7:00 p.m. performance, at 6:00 p.m.; and for a 4:00 p.m. performance, at 3:00 p.m.

The official material reviewed does not announce online booking or ticket pickup on earlier days for Palcos: SP. The safest procedure is therefore to follow the published in-person box office rule. Because the announcement does not describe advance booking or guarantee a ticket, anyone targeting a high-demand performance may want to plan to arrive before the pickup window begins.

How to choose a performance

Age ratings and running times are useful filters. Ficções, starring Vera Holtz, is rated 10+ and runs for 85 minutes. The 12+ group includes A Partilha, Prima Facie, Rita Lee – Balada da Louca, Dona Lola, Inventário, and Deixa Comigo. A Última Entrevista de Marília Gabriela and Oleanna are rated 14+; Habitat is 16+; and TIP — antes que me queimem eu mesma me atiro no fogo is 18+.

If your priority is a specific date or area, the schedule is also grouped clearly by theater: Paulo Eiró hosts performances from September 3 to 6; Arthur Azevedo from September 10 to 13; João Caetano from September 17 to 20; Alfredo Mesquita from September 25 to 27; and Cacilda Becker hosts the final performances from September 29 to October 3.

Note: the official release has a discrepancy in the theater count

The City's introductory text says the 20 performances are distributed across six theaters. However, the detailed schedule in the same release lists five: Paulo Eiró, Arthur Azevedo, João Caetano, Alfredo Mesquita, and Cacilda Becker — and those lines already add up to all 20 announced performances. This guide follows the detailed named schedule and does not add a sixth venue without official confirmation.

Checklist before you leave

  • check the date, time, and theater again on the official Palcos: SP page;
  • check the performance's age rating;
  • plan to arrive before the ticket pickup window opens, 1 hour before the performance;
  • use the theater's official address to plan your trip;
  • remember that the official material reviewed does not describe advance booking or guarantee a ticket.
