Updated September 15, 2026. In A Fazenda 18, three different decisions are often mixed together: the Farmer's nomination, the contestants' vote inside the house, and the public vote. The first two help build the Roça nomination lineup; in a standard Roça, the public ultimately decides who stays. RECORD's own season overview describes a four-person nomination process, followed by the Farmer Challenge and then a public vote.
In one sentence: who actually eliminates someone on A Fazenda?
Under the regular format, the house vote does not directly eliminate anyone. It puts a contestant at risk. After the Roça is formed, the Farmer Challenge removes one name from danger; the remaining nominees then face the public's preference. The elimination comes from that public vote unless production announces a special twist.
The Roça flow, step by step
- Farmer's nomination: the week's Farmer directly chooses one contestant for the first spot in the Roça.
- House vote: contestants vote among themselves, and the most-voted contestant takes another spot in the lineup.
- Baia pull: a contestant staying in the Baia is brought into the Roça. The Baia itself is usually determined by earlier parts of the game, such as the Fire Challenge or a special twist.
- Resta Um: contestants save other names in sequence until one person is left, completing the traditional four-person Roça.
- Farmer Challenge veto: one of the four is barred from competing. The official season explanation says the veto may come from the contestant left in Resta Um or be changed by a Lampião power.
- Farmer Challenge: three nominees compete. The winner escapes the Roça and becomes the new Farmer.
- Public vote: the contestants still in the Roça face the audience vote. This is the stage that determines who remains and who leaves in a regular elimination.
What the house vote does — and what it does not do
The house vote is a Roça-forming mechanism. Being the most-voted contestant inside the house does not mean being eliminated, and it does not even guarantee that person will reach the public ballot: Lampião powers, the veto and the Farmer Challenge still come afterward.
The correct way to read it is that the house increases a contestant's risk without ending their game. A contestant targeted by the group can still win the Farmer Challenge and return as the week's leader.
Does the public vote someone out or vote to keep someone?
The show's official language frames the result as the public's preference, and voting pages from the immediately preceding season explicitly told viewers to “save” their favorite contestant. In a standard Roça, the practical logic is therefore a stay vote: viewers support the contestant they want to keep, and the person with the lowest preference is eliminated.
Because A Fazenda 18 had not yet held its first regular Roça at the time of this update, the live R7 voting page should take precedence if the broadcaster changes the wording or mechanics. The official season overview, however, keeps the familiar structure in which the public determines the fate of the nominees.
Where the Lampião and the Fire Challenge fit
The Fire Challenge takes place before the Roça formation and gives its winner the Lampião do Poder. Its scrolls can reshape the vote: RECORD itself lists examples such as immunity, a double vote and other positive or negative effects.
That means the basic flowchart is a map, not a promise that every week will be identical. A power can change who votes, who is immune, who gains an advantage or who can veto someone from the Farmer Challenge. The key distinction is that these powers generally change how the nomination is formed; by themselves, they are not the final public-vote result.
Does Resta Um eliminate someone?
No. Resta Um is a Roça-forming stage. In A Fazenda 18's official description, the sequence starts with the contestant pulled from the Baia saving another player and continues until one name is left. The person left over enters the Roça and may also be involved in the Farmer Challenge veto.
So “left in Resta Um” means placed in the Roça, not “eliminated.” There is still an important gap between being nominated and leaving the show.
A Fazenda 18's opening week has an extra layer: the Visitors
The season began with 22 official contestants and four Visitors. Before the premiere, RECORD said the quartet would take part in decisions and activities during the opening days and that the public would decide which Visitors would remain in the competition. The broadcaster also said the exact decision method would be explained during the first week.
That ballot should not automatically be treated as a standard Roça. It is a special entry/stay mechanism for the Visitors. As of September 15, the official material had not yet detailed the entire voting procedure, so percentages, a fixed number of available spots or any additional condition should only be treated as confirmed once RECORD/R7 publishes it.
Which departures are not Roça-vote eliminations?
A reality show can also have departures caused by withdrawal, expulsion or an exceptional production decision. Those events end a contestant's participation, but they are not eliminations by the house vote or by a standard Roça. Keeping the terms separate helps: the internal vote creates risk, the public vote decides the regular Roça, and other departures follow their own rules.
Quick guide: how to read a voting night
| Stage | Who decides | Main effect | Direct elimination? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Farmer's nomination | Farmer | Puts one contestant in the Roça | No |
| House vote | Contestants | Defines another Roça nominee | No |
| Baia pull | Nomination mechanics | Adds another nominee | No |
| Resta Um | Contestants in sequence | Completes the traditional Roça | No |
| Veto | Round rule/power | Bars one nominee from the challenge | No |
| Farmer Challenge | Challenge performance | Saves one nominee and creates a new Farmer | No |
| Roça vote | Public | Determines preference among nominees | Yes, in the regular format |
What to check every week
To avoid applying an old rule to a special week, check three things before voting: which Lampião powers are active, who was vetoed from the Farmer Challenge, and the exact instruction shown on the official voting page. A Fazenda usually keeps the core Roça structure, but powers and special twists can change the intermediate steps.
