Curitiba will have temporary traffic changes for eight events on Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, 2026. Saturday, September 19
Our Lady of Mercês Motorcade
The motorcade will run from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., starting and ending at Paróquia Nossa Senhora das Mercês. The announced route follows Avenida Manoel Ribas and the streets Alcides Munhoz, Dom Alberto Gonçalves, Solimões, Professora Rosa Saporski, Jacarezinho, Doutor Roberto Barrozo and Victório Viezzer. Traffic officers and monitors will escort the group.
Drivers who need to cross the neighborhood late in the morning should avoid relying on a single road on the route. Because this is a moving motorcade, road reopening is expected to follow the group's progress and on-site traffic control.
Churrasco On Fire at Pedreira Paulo Leminski
Churrasco On Fire will affect streets around Pedreira Paulo Leminski. City Hall announced closures from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Rua Antônio Krainiski, between Nilo Peçanha and Benedito Correia de Freitas, and on Rua João Gava, between João Enéas de Sá and Nilo Peçanha. Nilo Peçanha and João Enéas de Sá were listed as alternatives.
Curitiba's Traffic Bulletin lists traffic operations around Pedreira from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with an expected crowd of about 5,000 people. Drivers should therefore allow extra time beyond the main closure period, especially during arrival and dispersal.
Curitiba Tbm Samba at Durival Britto e Silva Stadium
The Curitiba Tbm Samba festival will take place from 3:00 p.m. to midnight at Durival Britto e Silva Stadium. The announced closure is on Rua Pedro de Araújo Franco, between Avenida Doutor Dário Lopes dos Santos and Rua Engenheiros Rebouças. The city traffic bulletin lists changes around the stadium from 3:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. and estimates a crowd of about 12,000 people.
People traveling through Jardim Botânico, Rebouças or the connection between Dário Lopes dos Santos and Engenheiros Rebouças should expect slower traffic around the venue, including congestion caused by passenger drop-off and pick-up.
BPChoque Night Run
The BPChoque Night Run will gather and finish at the Paraná Military Police General Command headquarters on Avenida Presidente Getúlio Vargas, with the start scheduled for 9:00 p.m. About 2,500 participants are expected in the 5 km and 10 km events.
City Hall lists the affected roads as Avenida Presidente Getúlio Vargas, Avenida Doutor Dário Lopes dos Santos, Rua Professora Annette Macedo, Rua São Joaquim, Rua Bento Azambuja, Rua São Januário, Rua Brigadeiro Antônio de Sampaio, Rua Hildebrando de Araújo, Rua Brasílio Itiberê, Rua Engenheiros Rebouças, Avenida Comendador Franco, Rua João Negrão, Rua João Viana Seiler and Avenida Marechal Floriano Peixoto.
The traffic bulletin lists changes in the area from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. For public transport, URBS published route detours from 6:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. affecting 21 bus lines. The impact therefore begins before the race start and may continue after runners have passed.
Sunday, September 20
2026 Street Race Circuit, Stage 3
The race starts and finishes at Praça Padre Agostinho Legrós from 6:00 a.m. and is expected to attract about 6,000 participants. The 5 km route includes Rua Tenente Coronel Vilagran Cabrita, Rua Maestro Carlos Frank, Rua Paulo Setúbal, Rua Maria Luiza Curial dos Santos, Rua Francisco Lourenço Johnscher, Rua Desembargador Antônio de Paula, Avenida Marechal Floriano Peixoto and Rua Doutor Bley Zornig.
The 10 km route includes Rua Tenente Coronel Vilagran Cabrita, Rua Maestro Carlos Frank, Rua Paulo Setúbal, Rua Irmã Flávia Borlet, Rua Padre Dehon, Rua Waldemar Loureiro Campos, Avenida Marechal Floriano Peixoto and Rua Doutor Bley Zornig.
For bus users, URBS says route detours or on-site operating instructions are scheduled from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for lines serving Boqueirão and Hauer. This window is wider than the race start time and should be considered when planning early Sunday travel.
7th PRF Cycling Ride
The cycling ride will run from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., starting and finishing at the Atacadão/Decathlon parking area on Linha Verde, with about 250 cyclists expected. The route includes Linha Verde, Avenida Salgado Filho, Rua Imaculada Conceição, Rua Chile, Avenida Marechal Floriano Peixoto, Rua Brasílio Itiberê and Avenida Comendador Franco.
Because the group will move along major connecting roads, closures and slowdowns may move with the cyclists. Traffic officers will accompany the route.
8th Procession in Honor of Our Lady of La Salette
The procession begins at 8:00 a.m. at Praça Nossa Senhora da Salete in Centro Cívico and is expected to arrive at 10:00 a.m. at Santuário Nossa Senhora da Salette, Rua Lange de Morretes, 691. The route follows Rua Deputado Mário de Barros, Rua Alberto Folloni, Largo Senador Flávio Guimarães, Rua Tomazina, Rua Coronel Amazonas Marcondes, Rua Flávio Dallegrave, Rua Estados Unidos and Rua Coronel Temístocles de Souza Brasil.
This is a moving impact, so conditions at each intersection can change as the procession advances. Drivers traveling between Centro Cívico, Ahú, Cabral and nearby areas should follow officer instructions.
Domingo no Centro
Domingo no Centro will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Rua XV de Novembro, between Praça Osório and Bondinho da Leitura. Closures are planned on Rua Ébano Pereira, Rua Voluntários da Pátria and Avenida Luiz Xavier. The official event listing confirms the 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. schedule.
URBS has also published a detour for the 979 Turismo bus line because of the Avenida Luiz Xavier closure. Anyone heading downtown by car or bus should pay particular attention to Praça Osório and access points to the pedestrian area throughout the event period.
How to plan your trip
- Leave early: races, concerts and processions can create delays before the scheduled start and during dispersal.
- Avoid crossing the route: when possible, go around an event area instead of depending on an intersection that may be temporarily closed.
- Check public transport: road races already have URBS detours, and additional operating notices may be posted.
- Use the city bulletin: Curitiba's Traffic Bulletin groups current interventions by neighborhood.
- Follow on-site traffic control: reopening times and moving closures may vary according to safety conditions, crowd movement and officer decisions.
What is confirmed and what may change
The eight events, their main times and the roads described above were published by Curitiba City Hall on September 18, 2026. In some cases, the city traffic bulletin and URBS notices show operating windows that are wider than the event's central schedule, including the BPChoque Night Run and Sunday's Street Race Circuit.
This does not mean every road will remain fully closed for the entire operating window. Road races, cycling rides and processions can involve moving closures, progressive reopening or adjustments made on site. At the time of travel, posted signs and instructions from traffic officers and monitors are the most reliable reference.
