Salvador 2026 public exam: what changed in the third amendment and how to read applicants per vacancy

The third amendment moved the morning gate-closing time earlier. See the current times, upcoming dates and the full demand by position.

The third amendment to the Salvador 2026 public-service exam notice, published by FGV on September 14, changed one operational point that matters on test day: the morning gate-closing time moved from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. The afternoon gate-closing time remains 3:00 p.m. The amendment states that all other items and subitems of the notice remain unchanged.

The City of Salvador exam offers 190 immediate vacancies — 130 for Municipal Teacher and 60 for Pedagogical Coordinator — plus a reserve list. On September 10, FGV also published the applicants-per-vacancy table with 8,414 registered applicants, broken down by position, posting and workload.

What changed in the third amendment

The change is in item 14.1.1 of the notice. The previous wording set the morning gate closing at 7:30 a.m. The current version sets it at 7:00 a.m. and keeps the afternoon closing at 3:00 p.m. See the official third amendment and the consolidated notice amended on September 14, 2026.

This does not change the test date or duration. The objective and written-response exams are scheduled for September 27, 2026. Municipal Teacher candidates for both 20-hour and 40-hour workloads will test from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; Pedagogical Coordinator candidates will test from 3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Pedagogical Coordinator — 40h3:00 p.m.1:30 p.m.3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Item 14.1 also instructs candidates to arrive at least 1 hour and 30 minutes before the gate-closing time, carrying a blue- or black-ink ballpoint pen made of transparent material, an original identity document, and proof of registration or fee payment. The earlier morning closing therefore also moves forward the practical arrival time specified by the notice.

Dates candidates should track now

  • September 21, 2026: publication of test locations (CCI), according to the planned schedule.
  • September 27, 2026: objective and written-response exams.
  • September 28, 2026: publication of the preliminary objective-test answer key.
  • September 29-30, 2026: scheduled period for appeals against the preliminary answer key.

Because the individual test location is operationally essential, candidates should check the official exam page again when the CCI is published.

How to read the applicants-per-vacancy figure

The “applicants/vacancy” column is a simple ratio between the number of registered applicants and the number of immediate vacancies for that exact combination of position, posting and workload. For example, Pedagogical Coordinator has 1,287 applicants for 60 immediate vacancies, which equals 21.45 applicants per vacancy.

The reserve list is not an additional known number of vacancies. When the table says “60 + reserve list,” the ratio uses the 60 immediate vacancies. The reserve list may lead to future appointments, but it does not provide a fixed number that can be added to the denominator.

The ratio should also not be read as a candidate's “probability of passing.” It does not account for absences on test day, cut scores, eliminations in later stages, candidate performance, or the effective distribution between general competition and reserved-vacancy categories. FGV's table is a snapshot of validated registrations by option, not an individual probability.

The highest raw ratio in the table is Municipal Teacher - History, 40 hours, Salvador - Main area, at 218 applicants per vacancy. Next are Portuguese Language 40h - Main area (145.00), Early Childhood Education to 5th Grade 40h - Main area (123.57), and History 20h - Main area (114.00). At the other end, Theater 20h - Islands has 3.00 applicants per vacancy; Dance 20h - Islands, 6.00; and English 20h - Islands, 7.50.

These differences help size the volume of registrations, but they do not measure the real difficulty of the selection process by themselves. Two areas with similar ratios may have very different candidate profiles, cut scores and absence rates.

Practical checklist before test day

  • Download the consolidated notice and the third amendment again so you are using the current rule.
  • Check the CCI from September 21 and confirm the address, session and room.
  • Plan arrival around the 7:00 a.m. closing for teacher candidates and 3:00 p.m. for coordinator candidates, plus the 1h30 minimum advance arrival stated in the notice.
  • Prepare an original identity document, a transparent blue- or black-ink pen, and proof of registration or payment.
  • Use applicants per vacancy as a demand reference, not as a forecast of your ranking.
