Registration for Enem PPL 2026 runs from October 5 to 23, 2026. Interested people do not use the ordinary individual registration process: they request participation through the educational coordinator (Responsável Pedagógico) at their prison or socio-educational facility, who enters their information in the dedicated system. Participation is voluntary and free of charge. Under Notice No. 126, deadline-bound actions close at 11:59 p.m. Brasília time on the final day.
The examination is intended for people deprived of liberty and young people under socio-educational measures involving deprivation of liberty. Tests are scheduled for December 15 and 16, 2026, at facilities designated by the relevant authorities under the arrangement with Inep. These are Enem PPL dates, not the regular Enem calendar.
Official Enem PPL 2026 calendar
| Stage | Scheduled date |
|---|---|
| Registration and special-accommodation requests | October 5–23, 2026 |
| Special-accommodation decision | October 30, 2026 |
| Appeal of accommodation decision | November 2–6, 2026 |
| Appeal decisions | November 13, 2026 |
| Examinations | December 15 and 16, 2026 |
| Answer keys for multiple-choice tests | From December 28, 2026 |
Inep published these milestones on August 27, 2026. Registration and the initial special-accommodation request close on the same day; an appeal does not replace the original request. Check the notice and any subsequent amendments before completing each procedure.
Who requests registration and who enters it?
The participant expresses interest to the educational coordinator at their facility. This staff member is registered by the state-level coordinator, must work for the responsible administration or facility, and receives access to the PPL system. The prison or socio-educational administration must formally join the program and identify eligible facilities; this is separate from registering individual candidates.
Consequently, the regular Enem Participant Page should not be treated as the Enem PPL registration channel. Inep's institutional guidance tells interested people to contact the educational coordinator at a participating facility.
What does the educational coordinator do?
The notice assigns the educational coordinator duties that begin before registration and continue after testing. The role involves more than entering names: the coordinator relays information, tracks requests and protects participants' personal data.
- Read the rules and explain eligibility and obligations to participants before registration.
- Keep their own registration details current and protect their personal password, participants' CPF tax IDs and registration numbers.
- Enter registrations, request special accommodations and use of a social name when applicable, and check that each submission is complete.
- Select the foreign language, record upper-secondary education status, assign the exam room and register any request for certification.
- Arrange a transfer between participating facilities or remove a registration following release, where applicable and still within the registration window.
- Communicate confirmation, arrange original identification documents and coordinate access to the exam room under the applicable rules and timetable.
- Access and relay individual results and, where applicable, assist with higher-education admission programs and certification documents.
The coordinator's password is personal and non-transferable. Confirmation must be checked in the system: the notice provides for a report showing the registration number, chosen language, examination venue and, where relevant, accommodations or use of a social name.
Practical checklist for October 5–23 registration
- Confirm that the facility has joined Enem PPL and has a registered educational coordinator.
- Record the person's request to participate and check the notice's eligibility requirements.
- Check their CPF and personal information against Federal Revenue Service records, as discrepancies can prevent data matching.
- Record English or Spanish, education status, exam room and, where appropriate, the certification option and certifying institution.
- Request accessibility resources and attach the relevant documentation within the designated period.
- Review all entries, confirm submission, safeguard login information and inspect the registered-participants report.
The notice does not allow late registration or registration outside the designated system. Changes to personal information, transfers between facilities and removal of registrations are confined to the registration window. After it closes, a registration cannot be cancelled even if the participant is released or transferred.
Special accommodations, social name and appeals
Special-accommodation requests must likewise be submitted by the educational coordinator from October 5 to 23, with the relevant condition and required evidence. Under the notice, files must be PDF, PNG or JPG and no larger than 2 MB. Inep is scheduled to publish decisions on October 30; if a request is denied, an appeal can be made November 2–6, with the result on November 13.
Use of a social name must be selected during registration when requested and already recorded with the Federal Revenue Service. The coordinator must monitor accommodation decisions: requesting accessibility support does not mean that the request or extra time has been automatically approved. Exceptional circumstances arising after the deadline are governed by specific notice provisions and do not amount to a general reopening of registration.
Upper-secondary certification: a decision to check
If the participant intends to use their scores to request an upper-secondary completion certificate or a Partial Proficiency Statement, the educational coordinator must record that intention and, where applicable, the certifying institution. Under the notice, applicants for certification must be at least 18 on the first examination day and must not have completed, or be completing in 2026, upper-secondary education. Issuance depends on the required scores and the certifying institution's procedures, not merely on ticking an option during registration.
The notice also defines a practice-test participant (treineiro): someone under 18 on the first testing day who will finish upper-secondary education after the 2026 school year. In that category, results are for self-assessment rather than the certification or admission purposes available to other participants.
Enem PPL versus regular Enem: registration differences
| Aspect | Enem PPL 2026 | Regular Enem 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Participants and venue | People deprived of liberty or youths under custodial socio-educational measures; exam at a participating facility. | General applicants; tests at assigned venues. |
| Who registers | Facility's educational coordinator through the PPL system. | Applicant through the Participant Page; some 2026 public-school final-year students have automatic registration requiring confirmation. |
| Registration window | October 5–23, 2026. | May 25–June 12, 2026. |
| Cost | Free under the PPL notice. | R$85 fee for applicants without an exemption. |
| Exam dates | December 15 and 16, 2026. | November 8 and 15, 2026. |
This comparison concerns procedure, dates and venue, not relative difficulty: Inep states that Enem PPL and the regular examination have the same level of difficulty. In practical terms, interested participants or their families should contact the facility's educational staff, rather than try to use the regular exam's already closed registration window.
How will the December tests be administered?
On December 15, candidates are scheduled to take Languages, Humanities and the essay, with a standard duration of five hours and 30 minutes. December 16 covers Natural Sciences and Mathematics, with a standard duration of five hours. There are four multiple-choice tests with 45 questions each, plus an essay. Facility staff and the educational coordinator must follow the notice's specific timetable and ensure that the required original identity document is presented.
To verify deadlines, registration status and applicable instructions, consult Inep's official announcement and Notice No. 126. Access to the PPL system is intended for authorized staff; simply visiting the website does not amount to completed registration. This timetable reflects the notice available as of September 27, 2026, and should be checked against any amendments before publication or action.
