Candidates taking the Aracaju Municipal Guard objective exam on 13/09/2026 will have a short window to challenge the preliminary answer key: the schedule provides for the key to be published on 14/09 and for appeals on 15 and 16/09. Submissions must be made through the Candidate Area on the IDECAN website, using the Online Appeal tool; the notice does not accept appeals by email, fax, post or any other channel.
The main point is not to confuse two different challenge periods. On 15 and 16/09, the appeal is against the preliminary answer key. Then, on 07/10, the schedule provides for publication of the final answer key, the preliminary objective-exam result and the candidate's answer-sheet mirror; a separate appeal window against that preliminary result is set for 08 and 09/10. The final objective-exam result is scheduled for 30/10.

Where to appeal the preliminary answer key
The official notice requires candidates to access their Candidate Area on the IDECAN website and use the Online Appeal tool. The tool is linked to the candidate's individual registration and must be used only during the appeal period shown in the schedule.
The notice also states that, on the day after the preliminary answer key is published, the exam booklets will be made available at the same electronic address and will remain accessible throughout the appeal period. This allows candidates to check the wording, answer choices and any possible discrepancy before drafting a challenge.
How the appeal should be written
An answer-key appeal is not a generic request to “review the question.” Under the notice, it must be individual for each question, state precisely how the candidate believes they were adversely affected and provide supporting grounds.
- Identify the challenged question and the exact point in the answer key you are disputing.
- Explain why the option selected by the examining body would be incorrect, why another option should be accepted, or why the question should be annulled.
- Support the claim with relevant references, such as statutory provisions, regulations, book items and page numbers, or authors' names, when appropriate to the subject matter.
- Be clear, consistent and objective. The notice provides for summary rejection of inconsistent or late appeals.
It is also useful to distinguish an official rule from a practical precaution. The notice defines the channel and the required reasoning; for personal recordkeeping, it is advisable to save any protocol, receipt or submission record provided by the system, as well as a copy of the text submitted.
What to check before clicking submit
- Deadline: confirm that the submission is being made on 15 or 16/09/2026, while the appeal window is open.
- Correct question: verify the question number, booklet and published answer before drafting.
- Clear request: state whether you seek a change to the answer key or annulment, and explain why.
- Supporting grounds: use sources directly related to the content of the question; do not rely only on saying that “there is doubt” or that “another answer seems better.”
- Respectful wording: the notice provides for rejection of appeals whose content is disrespectful to the examining body.
- Correct channel: use only the Candidate Area/Online Appeal tool and follow the instructions shown by IDECAN.
If a question is annulled or the key changes, who benefits?
If the appeal review results in the annulment of a question, the corresponding points will be awarded to all candidates, including those who did not appeal. If the preliminary answer key is changed, the change will likewise apply to all candidates, regardless of whether they submitted an appeal.
In other words, an appeal is the mechanism that prompts the examining body to review a supported challenge, but the effect of an accepted correction is not limited to the candidate who filed it.
What happens on October 7, 8 and 9
The schedule sets three important publications for 07/10/2026: the final answer key, the preliminary objective-exam result and the answer-sheet mirror in the Candidate Area. From that point, the subject of any challenge changes: the final answer key is not open to another answer-key appeal, but the preliminary objective-exam result has its own appeal period on 08 and 09/10.
The notice also states that requests for review of an appeal, an “appeal of an appeal,” an appeal against the final official answer key or an appeal against the final result will not be accepted. Candidates therefore need to use each window for the correct subject.
