Anyone taking Enem 2026 on November 8 and 15 should plan their arrival based on Brasília official time — not just the exam start time. On both Sundays, gates open at 12:00 p.m., close promptly at 1:00 p.m., and the exams begin at 1:30 p.m. The first day ends at 7:00 p.m.; the second ends at 6:30 p.m. Inep confirms these dates and times in its official guidance for the 2026 edition.

All of these times follow Brasília time. The test dates appear in the official Enem 2026 schedule, while gate opening, closing, start and finish times are confirmed by Inep.

What the 1:00 p.m. gate closure means

The critical point in the schedule is the gate closure. Inep states that access to the test site ends at 1:00 p.m. Brasília time and that entry is prohibited after that moment. Between 1:00 and 1:30 p.m., participants should already be inside the venue, waiting for security procedures and authorization to begin the exam.

In practice, 1:00 p.m. should not be treated as an “arrival time.” It is the access deadline. To reduce the risk of being late because of traffic, public transport, lines, rain, or difficulty finding the room, use the 12:00 p.m. gate opening as your arrival reference. Check the exact test location in advance on the Participant Page and on the Registration Confirmation Card.

When you may leave without taking the booklet

A participant may not leave the room permanently before two hours have passed from the start of the exam. Since the start is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., the earliest permanent exit is 3:30 p.m. on both November 8 and 15.

Anyone leaving during this period must hand in the required test materials to the room supervisor and may not take the Question Booklet. The two-hour rule appears in the participant obligations published by Inep.

When you may leave with the Question Booklet

The Question Booklet may only leave the venue with the participant when the permanent exit occurs in the final 30 minutes before the exam ends. This creates two different times:

  • November 8: the regular session ends at 7:00 p.m., so the booklet may be taken from 6:30 p.m. onward.
  • November 15: the regular session ends at 6:30 p.m., so the booklet may be taken from 6:00 p.m. onward.

Before those times, leaving permanently means leaving the Question Booklet in the room. This difference matters for participants who want to check answers later or coordinate transportation after the exam.

Why the first Sunday ends later

On November 8, the tests cover Languages, Codes and their Technologies, the essay, and Human Sciences and their Technologies. The regular duration is 5 hours and 30 minutes, from 1:30 to 7:00 p.m.

On November 15, the tests cover Natural Sciences and their Technologies and Mathematics and its Technologies. The regular duration is 5 hours, from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. Inep provides the subject distribution and finish times for the 2026 administration.

Brasília time: check your local time zone before leaving

Inep sets the schedule in Brasília time. Anyone in a location with a different time zone must convert the schedule to local time rather than assuming that “12:00 p.m.” means noon on the local clock. Inep explicitly states that Enem follows Brasília time on its exam-day guidance page.

To avoid a conversion mistake, verify local time in advance and again on the day before the exam. Travel planning should also account for the fact that gate closure is a strict deadline, with no tolerance for late arrival.

Extra time and the Libras video exam have different finish times

The 7:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. times are the end of the regular session. Participants with approved extra time finish at 8:00 p.m. on the first day and 7:30 p.m. on the second. For participants approved for the Libras video exam, Inep states finish times of 9:00 p.m. on the first day and 8:30 p.m. on the second.

Participants with specialized accommodations should follow the conditions approved for their own registration and check the Confirmation Card and specific guidance instead of relying only on the regular-session table.

Timing checklist for both Sundays

  • Confirm the test-site address before each Sunday.
  • Plan to arrive around the 12:00 p.m. gate opening in Brasília time, not close to the closing time.
  • Be inside the venue before 1:00 p.m.; entry is prohibited after the gates close.
  • Treat 1:30 p.m. as the exam start time.
  • If you need to leave early, permanent exit is only allowed from 3:30 p.m.
  • To take the Question Booklet, wait until 6:30 p.m. on the first day or 6:00 p.m. on the second.
  • Plan for the regular session to end at 7:00 p.m. on November 8 and 6:30 p.m. on November 15.
  • If you have approved accommodations, use the schedule specific to your case.

Inep also states that every room will have a time marker and that watches are not permitted among items used during the session. The practical approach is to enter the venue already knowing the day's timeline and use the room's time display to manage the remaining exam time.
