What time are the finals?
The women's singles championship is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, at 5:00 p.m. Brasília time. The men's final is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, at 3:00 p.m. Brasília time. These are the planned start times at Arthur Ashe Stadium and remain subject to tournament adjustments.
Why do the earlier days show more than one time?
Through the round of 16, multiple singles matches are spread across several courts and across day and evening sessions. The tournament calendar gives the general start of play and session start times; it does not establish the exact time of every individual matchup far in advance. From September 3 through 7, for example, general play begins at 11:00 a.m. in New York, equivalent to 12:00 p.m. in Brasília, while matches at Arthur Ashe Stadium begin at 11:30 a.m. local time, or 12:30 p.m. in Brasília.
At the quarterfinal stage, the calendar places the main singles matches in more defined windows. On September 8, singles begin at 11:30 a.m. in New York, 12:30 p.m. in Brasília, and the evening session starts at 8:00 p.m. Brasília time. On September 9, the men's night quarterfinal session is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in New York, or 8:30 p.m. in Brasília.
How to find a specific player's exact match time
To follow a specific player, the best source is the official Schedule of Play. The US Open states that match schedules are released the day before play. That page then provides the match time, court assignment, and matchup once the daily order is finalized.
- Use this calendar to identify the scheduled day for each round.
- The day before, open the Schedule of Play to check the official order.
- Check again on match day because previous match lengths, weather, and operational decisions can change the schedule.
What can still change
The US Open notes that session dates, number of matches, and starting times are subject to change. This schedule therefore works as an official reference converted to Brasília time, but it does not replace the daily order of play. For viewers in Brazil, the conversion is straightforward during this period: add one hour to the New York times shown by the US Open.
