How the Game Changers Pacific final works

Game Changers Pacific places eight teams in a double elimination bracket. A team can therefore remain in the tournament after its first loss as long as it keeps advancing through the lower bracket. The grand final itself is a Bo5: the title goes to the first team to win three maps.

The format explains why the finalists arrive through different routes. FENNEL moved through the upper bracket without losing a series. Gen.G lost to FENNEL, survived the lower bracket and had to win the lower final to earn a rematch for the title.

FENNEL HOTELAVA's path to the final

  • September 14: 2 to 0 win over RGL wiwiwi in the opening match.
  • September 15: 2 to 1 win over Gen.G GC in the upper bracket semifinal.
  • September 18: 2 to 0 win over Team Falcons Vega in the upper final.

By beating Falcons Vega, the Japanese team advanced directly to the grand final and also secured one of the Pacific region's two places at the Game Changers Championship.

Gen.G GC's path to the final

  • September 14: 2 to 0 win over Rising Esports GC in the opening match.
  • September 15: 2 to 1 loss to FENNEL HOTELAVA in the upper bracket.
  • September 17: 2 to 1 win over swaglord9000 in the lower bracket.
  • September 18: 2 to 1 win over FULL SENSE SISU.
  • September 19: 3 to 2 win over Team Falcons Vega in the lower final.

The run sends Gen.G back into a matchup with FENNEL, this time in the series that decides the regional title. Bracket results can be followed on the VLR.gg event page, while start times and match status should be confirmed on the official schedule.

What is at stake beyond the trophy

The tournament has a total prize pool of US$20,000. More importantly for the season, the Pacific region's top two teams advance to the Game Changers Championship in Sao Paulo. Because FENNEL and Gen.G are the two grand finalists, both enter the title match with international qualification already secured. The September 20 series decides the regional championship and their final placing in the event.

Riot has confirmed that the 2026 Game Changers Championship will be held in Sao Paulo as the international conclusion to the season. For the Pacific final, the safest reference for any last minute schedule change remains the VALORANT Esports calendar.
