Expert Berlian, Nutra Senior and Nutra Whey Gourmet: how to verify Anvisa's recall and what to do

Anvisa ordered the recall of specific products from these lines on September 9, 2026. See the list, how to check status, and what actions to take.

Yes. The Anvisa action published on September 9, 2026 covers the Expert Berlian capsule supplement — including the commercial variations Expert Diamond and Expert Dimond — and five product lines made by LHS Indústria e Comércio de Alimentos Ltda.: Nutra Senior, Nutra Senior Premium, Nutra Whey Gourmet, Nutra Senior Zero Açúcar, and Nutra Senior Diabetics Care. For the LHS line, the resolution covers all flavors and all lots; for Expert Berlian, the act also indicates all lots. While the measures remain in force, these products may not be sold, distributed, manufactured, advertised, or used, and units already on the market must be recalled. Anvisa published the list and formalized the measures in RE 3.540/2026 and RE 3.541/2026. See Anvisa's official alert.

The safest way to verify an item is to use the exact product name and responsible company, rather than relying on a single word in the brand name. This helps avoid confusing the affected items with similarly named products or third-party listings.

Why Anvisa ordered the recall and restrictions

In both cases, Anvisa cited the absence of stability studies showing that the products would maintain their safety, composition, and quality through the expiration date stated on the label. Those studies are part of the sanitary requirements that apply to dietary supplements and were not waived by the end of the transition period for the new regularization rules.

For the LHS products, the agency also said they remained available through e-commerce even after their notifications had been canceled. For Expert Berlian, the notification had been canceled in January 2025, and the enforcement action also cited advertising that attributed therapeutic properties to the product, including claims related to cartilage, anti-inflammatory effects, and the treatment or prevention of diseases and pain. Anvisa's notice does not say that every person who used these products suffered harm; the action is preventive and is based on regulatory irregularities and missing required evidence. Read the justification published on September 9, 2026.

Recall, suspension or prohibition, and notification cancellation are different measures

TermWhat it means herePractical effect
RecallAn action to remove food products from the market when they may pose a risk or harm to consumers. It can be voluntary or ordered by Anvisa.Stock already in the sales chain must be withdrawn by the party responsible for the recall. Anvisa explains the procedure here.
Suspension or prohibitionAn enforcement measure that blocks specified activities. RE 3.540 uses “suspension” for the LHS products; RE 3.541 uses “prohibition” for Expert Berlian. Both acts bar commercialization, distribution, manufacturing, advertising, and use.
Notification cancellationNotification is one form of sanitary regularization. Once it is canceled, that notification no longer supports the product's regularized status; canceled notifications cannot simply be reactivated. This is a regulatory/database status and is not, by itself, the same thing as a recall. In these cases, however, specific enforcement acts also order the recall and restrictions. See Anvisa's regularization rules.

How to check a supplement in Anvisa's system

  1. Read the label before searching. Write down the full product name, manufacturer or importer, CNPJ, lot number, and, if present, the process or regularization number.
  2. Use the official food-product search. On Anvisa's site, open advanced search. For a notified supplement, search by the process number; for a registered product, use the regularization number. Anvisa provides the steps and explains the result.
  3. Check the status. Under Anvisa's guidance, “Ativo” (Active) means the product is regularized, while “Inativo” (Inactive) means it is not regularized under that record.
  4. For this alert, compare the result with RE 3.540/2026 and RE 3.541/2026. If the exact name and company match the items above, a marketplace or store listing does not make the product permitted: Anvisa itself reported that affected products were still being offered online.
  5. Do not use the absence of a notification number on the label as a universal test. On September 1, 2026, Anvisa clarified that some units manufactured under the transition rules may remain on the market until expiration even without that number printed on the label. That general transition rule does not override the specific enforcement measures covered here. See Anvisa's transition guidance.

What to do if you have one of the affected products

  • Stop using it. The enforcement measures expressly include use among the prohibited or suspended activities.
  • Do not buy another unit or pass the product on to someone else. Sale and distribution are also covered by the resolutions.
  • Keep the package, lot information, and proof of purchase if available. These details help identify the item and handle the recall with the seller or responsible company.
  • Ask the seller or responsible company for recall instructions. The September 9 notice orders withdrawal from the market but does not set out a single household-disposal procedure or a specific refund rule in that notice, so it is better not to invent a disposal route.
  • If the item is still being advertised or sold, file a complaint. Anvisa directs reports about irregular supplements to Fala.BR and recommends including the product name, purchase location, and, when possible, photos of the label and advertising claims. See the official channel and instructions.
  • If you experienced an unusual or unexpected effect after using the product, seek guidance from a health professional. This is also Anvisa's general recommendation for supplement users.

What the alert does not establish

The resolutions are specific. They cover Expert Berlian and the variations cited in the act, plus the five LHS lines listed above. The alert does not automatically establish that every supplement containing the word “Nutra,” every supplement sold online, or every other product from either company is included without checking the exact name and the relevant sanitary action.

It is also incorrect to turn “notification canceled” into a blanket rule that every supplement without a visible notification number on the label must be recalled. The transition framework requires checking manufacture dates, the applicable regularization route, and database status. In this specific case, the answer is more straightforward because two enforcement measures published on September 9, 2026 order the recall and prevent continued sale, distribution, manufacturing, advertising, and use of the listed items.
