CaraguaPrev 2026: positions, salaries, fees, and what to check before the September 29 deadline

Review the seven CaraguaPrev 2026 positions, salaries, fees, requirements, exams, and a practical checklist before completing your application.

To decide whether CaraguaPrev Public Competition No. 01/2026 is worth applying for, the starting point should not be the highest salary alone. The notice offers seven immediate openings, one for each position, with requirements ranging from completed elementary education to university degrees, 20- or 40-hour workweeks, and different exam stages. In a check made on September 2, 2026, the official Fundação Vunesp page still lists the competition as open for applications from August 17 through September 29.

The main deadline is September 29 — but payment is due by September 30

The online application must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on September 29, 2026. The opening notice published in Caraguatatuba's Official Gazette states that the application-fee bank slip may be paid through September 30, 2026. That does not make September 30 an extra application day: the form must already have been submitted within the application period.

  • Application: from August 17, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. through September 29, 2026 at 11:59 p.m., via Vunesp.
  • Fee: R$ 67,90 for elementary- and secondary-level positions; R$ 98,80 for university-level positions.
  • Payment: bank slip due by September 30, 2026.
  • Methods the notice does not accept for the fee: PIX, bank transfer, payment order, ordinary deposit, or other methods in place of the required bank slip.
  • Written exam and the attorney practical-professional exam: scheduled for November 29, 2026.

The notice states that an application is only finalized after the bank confirms payment. After paying, it is therefore worth returning to the Candidate Area to make sure the application status has been updated.

Positions, education, salaries, fees, and key requirements

The table below summarizes item 2.2 of the official notice. Salaries are based on February 2026 levels. The notice also states that active employees are entitled monthly to meal allowance, food allowance, and transportation allowance, the latter upon request.

Procurador Jurídico (Legal Counsel)1University degree in Law20h*R$ 5.384,17R$ 98,80Legal authorization to practice the profession

*The notice says that the successful candidate for Procurador Jurídico may be offered the option of a 40-hour workweek, with salary doubled. The Municipality reported that this would bring the amount to R$ 10.768,34. The official table for the position, however, lists 20h and R$ 5.384,17.

The highest salary in the table is not for the legal counsel position

One detail that can be confusing when comparing summaries of the competition is the difference between the listed salary and the possibility of extending the legal counsel's workweek. In the official table, the highest regular salary is for Controlador Interno, at R$ 7.104,30 for a 40-hour week. Procurador Jurídico is listed at R$ 5.384,17 for 20h, while the notice allows for the possibility that the selected candidate be offered a 40-hour schedule with doubled salary.

When deciding whether to apply, compare salary with working hours and the actual qualification requirements instead of relying only on the general salary range used in competition announcements.

Checklist before paying the fee

  1. Confirm the exact position requirement. For Motorista I, completed elementary education is not enough: a professional category C driver's license is required. Técnico de Contabilidade requires CRC registration. Controlador Interno accepts four specific university backgrounds and requires registration with the relevant professional body.
  2. Check when the qualification must be proven. The notice states that appointment requirements, including education and professional registration where applicable, must be met on the appointment date and documented when the candidate is called.
  3. Review the weekly workload. If you are comparing public competitions by pay, consider salary together with workload, commute, and duties.
  4. Check the exam stage for your position. Motorista I has a practical driving test in addition to the written exam; Procurador Jurídico has a practical-professional exam with a procedural document.
  5. Do not assume multiple applications mean you can sit multiple exams. The notice says that if a candidate applies for more than one position whose written exams take place in the same session, the candidate may take only one and will be marked absent from the others.
  6. Review your details before finalizing the application. Once the application is effective, the notice does not allow changing the chosen position. Incorrect information can jeopardize the application or a future appointment.
  7. Generate and pay the bank slip through the official flow. The notice does not accept PIX or bank transfers as substitutes for the prescribed payment method.
  8. Keep receipts and verify status. The application is only finalized after bank confirmation of payment.

How the exams are structured for each group of positions

The Municipality of Caraguatatuba detailed the exam composition based on the notice:

  • Motorista I: 30 questions — 10 Portuguese Language, 5 Mathematics, 5 Local Legislation, and 10 Specific Knowledge — plus a practical driving test.
  • Agente Administrativo, Técnico de Contabilidade, and Técnico em Informática: 40 questions — 7 Portuguese Language, 7 Mathematics, 6 Basic IT, 5 Local Legislation, and 15 Specific Knowledge.
  • Contador and Controlador Interno: 40 questions with the same distribution: 7 Portuguese Language, 7 Mathematics, 6 Basic IT, 5 Local Legislation, and 15 Specific Knowledge.
  • Procurador Jurídico: 50 questions — 10 Portuguese Language and 40 Specific Knowledge — plus the procedural document in the practical-professional exam.

The written and practical-professional exams are scheduled for November 29. The practical driving stage for Motorista I requires a separate call and should be monitored in the competition's official publications.

Openings, reserved vacancies, and validity

There is one immediate opening for each of the seven positions. Because that number is not enough to apply the reservation percentages immediately, the notice does not set aside the initial openings for people with disabilities or Black and mixed-race candidates. If new openings arise during the competition's validity period, the notice provides for reservations of 5% for people with disabilities and 20% for Black or mixed-race candidates, under the competition rules.

The competition is valid for two years from final approval of the results, with the possibility of one extension for the same period at CaraguaPrev's discretion. The notice also says calls will be made according to the agency's needs, convenience, and availability.

What to recheck in the notice and later documents before September 29

Even if you have already read a summary, make one final check on the day you apply or pay. The notice makes candidates responsible for following official publications and directs them to the Official Gazette, CaraguaPrev website, and Fundação Vunesp.

  • Open the CRGP2401 page on Vunesp and check “Editais e Documentos”.
  • Confirm that the deadline, fee, selected position, and requirements still match the notice you read.
  • Check for any communication or amendment affecting the schedule, special conditions, reserved vacancies, or exams.
  • Do not leave bank-slip generation or payment-status verification until the final minutes.

So, is it worth applying?

The competition is more likely to make sense if you already meet — or have an objective path to meeting by appointment — the position's specific requirement, accept the stated workload, and consider the combination of salary, benefits, number of openings, and exam format worthwhile. It is less attractive when a candidate chooses only by the salary range without checking professional registration, additional courses, driver's-license requirements, practical stages, or schedule compatibility.

If the position passes those filters, the practical next step is straightforward: review the notice and any later documents, apply through Vunesp by 11:59 p.m. on September 29, pay the bank slip by the deadline, and verify finalization in the Candidate Area.
