For Rock in Rio 2026, held at Cidade do Rock on September 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12 and 13, the most important rule for anyone planning to use accessibility resources is not to treat an accessibility wristband, a PCD ticket or a companion as an “all-access pass.” Each structure has its own eligibility criteria, procedure and capacity. The official accessibility page, checked on August 31, 2026, also states that pre-registration has ended and that people who missed the deadline can complete verification in person at the Accessibility Center.
What to bring so you do not depend on a single form of proof
- Official photo ID. It is required at different stages, including for the adapted shuttle vans.
- Medical report, especially if you missed pre-registration. The organizer instructs people who did not register in advance to bring an official document and a medical report for in-person verification. For conditions that are not classified as disabilities, the report must show that the condition causes functional limitations affecting mobility, autonomy or performance during the event.
- Specific proof of the condition, when applicable. The shuttle FAQ requires photo ID and proof of the condition.
- A valid DeFis parking card if your PCD parking space was approved. The card must remain visible on the dashboard together with the sticker required by the organizer.
- An individual ticket for each person. A PCD ticket does not automatically include a companion.
- Your own mobility device if it is essential. Wheelchairs and Kit Livre devices can be borrowed, but both are subject to availability.
Accessibility Center: when it should be your first stop
Accessibility pre-registration was available from July 27 to August 15. Anyone who missed that period can still complete verification in person at the Accessibility Center, near the Rock in Rio sign, by presenting an official document and a medical report. This is where the team performs on-site registration and issues wristbands connected to certain resources.
The Center is also the reference point for services that require collection, registration or identification on site, such as the Sinta o Som wristband, Sensory Kit, Fast Pass for adapted rides and registration for audio description. The accessibility wristband helps people use the resources for which they are eligible, but it does not guarantee a place on a viewing platform, equipment loans or access to every festival service.
Companion: ticket, entry and limits
Every ticket is individual. A person with a disability who needs a companion is entitled to purchase one additional half-price ticket for the companion, but the benefit does not turn one ticket into entry for two people. The Terms and Conditions also require the person with a disability and the companion using the half-price benefit to enter together.
For accessibility resources, companion access depends on the specific rule. Adapted vans allow only one companion per eligible person. Audio description is intended for the person with visual impairment and their companion, when applicable. Platforms and viewing areas, however, follow their own eligibility and capacity rules.
Adapted vans: boarding points, schedule and the rule for the return trip
On festival days, Rock in Rio provides free adapted vehicles for people with disabilities and people with reduced mobility, with one companion per eligible person. To use the service, passengers must show official photo ID and proof of the condition.
- Boarding points: Shopping Metropolitano Barra, at the South Zone Entrance, and BRT Centro Olímpico Terminal.
- Outbound: boarding from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at both locations.
- Return: begins after the final Palco Mundo show; an earlier departure may occur only if demand fills the vehicle to capacity.
- Critical return rule: the identification wristband collected at the Accessibility Center is mandatory. Without it, the passenger cannot board the return van.
In practical terms, anyone planning to return by van should not leave the Accessibility Center until late at night: return identification needs to be resolved beforehand.
Elevated platforms and viewing areas: a wristband is not a reservation
Elevated platforms are located near the Mundo, Sunset and Favela stages, with viewing areas near the Global, Supernova and NDO stages. The key point is that an accessibility wristband alone does not guarantee entry.
The visitor must meet the eligibility rules for that specific structure, and capacity is limited. Even someone with a compatible wristband may find the platform full. It is therefore worth planning movements in advance, especially for the most popular shows.
Resources by profile: what can make a difference during the day
Visual impairment
Audio description is planned for the Mundo, Sunset, Global, Supernova and Favela stages, subject to availability. Prior registration at the Accessibility Center is required, and the equipment is requested from the accessibility team when the service is needed. Requesting audio description does not guarantee access to elevated platforms. Event menus also provide audio description through QR codes using the Allia Incluí app.
Hearing impairment
Screens at the Mundo, Sunset and Favela stages will show Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) interpretation of performances. The festival also states that Libras interpreters will be available at strategic points and that the Sinta o Som area will operate in front of those three stages. Capacity is limited and a specific wristband must be collected at the Accessibility Center.
Sensory sensitivity
The structure includes a Sensory Room with reduced stimuli and support from occupational therapists, plus a Sensory Kit with regulation items. The kit is collected at the Center, requires a responsibility form and is subject to availability.
Temporary reduced mobility and crutches
People with orthopedic injuries, recent fractures or other temporary reduced mobility may request an accessibility wristband if they present a medical report proving the condition and the resulting mobility limitation. Manual wheelchairs and Kit Livre devices are available for loan subject to availability; if a wheelchair is essential, the organizer recommends bringing your own.
Adapted rides
The Ferris wheel and zip line are advertised as adapted. The Fast Pass must be collected at the Accessibility Center and depends on order of arrival, the rules of each ride and operational availability.
PCD parking: what is still possible on August 31
The current status block on the official page states that PCD parking applications ran from August 3 to 21 and that spaces are sold out. This is therefore not a resource that can still be requested by someone who did not secure a space.
Visitors whose applications were approved should follow the instructions sent by email. To use the space, they must keep a valid DeFis card visible on the dashboard and use the parking sticker provided for the 2026 edition.
Quick checklist by decision
| Situation | What to do | What to bring or secure |
|---|---|---|
| Missed pre-registration | Go to the Accessibility Center on arrival | Official photo ID and medical report |
| Using an adapted van | Board at Shopping Metropolitano Barra or BRT Centro Olímpico between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. | ID, proof of the condition and, for the return, the wristband collected at the Center |
| Needs a companion | Confirm the companion’s individual ticket and the rules of the intended resource | Separate ticket; vans limit access to one companion per eligible person |
| Wants a platform or viewing area | Check specific eligibility and arrive early | Compatible wristband, knowing capacity may prevent access |
| Has approved parking | Follow instructions received by email | Valid DeFis card and mandatory sticker |
What should not be treated as guaranteed
Platforms have capacity limits; wheelchairs, Kit Livre and Sensory Kits depend on availability; Sinta o Som has limited capacity; audio description is also subject to availability; and there are no PCD parking spaces left for new requests. Planning a primary resource and a backup avoids arriving at the festival depending on something the organizer never promised as an individual reservation.
Before leaving home
Check the official Rock in Rio accessibility page again, because the page itself states that it is updated as the festival approaches. Also confirm the general dates and information and, if your question concerns the companion’s half-price ticket, review the Terms and Conditions. The official app also gathers accessibility services and is expected to include the full festival map by the opening of Cidade do Rock.
