The PND 2026 Confirmation Card will be released on September 9. Inep changed only this date — previously scheduled for August 31 — while keeping the National Teacher Exam on September 20, 2026. The card contains essential test-day information, including the registration number, date, time, test location and, when applicable, the approved specialized accommodation.
What to check on the PND card on September 9
Open the PND System as soon as the document is available and run through a practical check. Inep says the card includes, among other details, the information below:
- Registration number: confirm that the document matches your registration and keep your system password stored securely.
- Date and time: the test remains scheduled for September 20. Use the time shown on the card together with the official rules to plan your arrival.
- Test location: verify the institution and address in advance. Do not rely on the location used for another exam, edition or candidate.
- Specialized accommodation: if your request was approved, check that the information appears on the card as provided by Inep.
If any detail appears inconsistent with what you have been following in the system, check the official PND channels first. Inep's August 28 notice says the change affected only the card's publication date; the other rules in Notice No. 67/2026 remained unchanged.
September 20 schedule: turn the test location into a logistics plan
The official notice uses Brasília time for the entire administration. Candidates must arrive at the location shown on the card at 12:00 p.m. and be at the classroom door by 1:00 p.m. for identification procedures.
| Stage | Time |
|---|---|
| Gates open | 12:00 p.m. |
| Gates close | 1:00 p.m. |
| Test begins | 1:30 p.m. |
| Test ends | 7:00 p.m. |
| Scheduled total duration | 5 hours 30 minutes |
Candidates with approved additional time receive 60 extra minutes, with an expected end time of 8:00 p.m. The minimum stay in the testing room is two hours.
Entry requires a valid photo identification document under the rules in the official notice. Physical documents and, in specified cases, photo IDs shown in official digital applications are accepted. Answers on the answer sheet must be marked with a black ballpoint pen made of transparent material.
The notice also requires electronic devices and other prohibited items to remain switched off and stored in the object envelope provided in the room. If you bring the Confirmation Card, it must also be stored in that envelope when instructed by the staff. Use the card before entering to confirm the address, route and schedule, then follow the proctors' directions inside the venue.
How the PND is structured
PND 2026 lasts five hours and thirty minutes and has two parts. General Teacher Education, common to all teaching-degree areas, has 30 objective questions and one written-response question. The Specific Component has 50 multiple-choice questions related to the area selected by the candidate.
According to Inep, the written-response question evaluates clarity, coherence, cohesion, argumentative strategies, vocabulary and command of standard Portuguese. The official notice also states that it may be linked to argumentative genres. The 2026 edition covers 21 teaching-degree areas.
Reverse study plan from September 9 to September 20
The plan below is an editorial study suggestion, not an official Inep schedule. The idea is to use the card-release day to close all logistics, then focus the remaining review on correcting errors, timed practice and written-response training. Because the Specific Component has 50 questions and General Teacher Education has 30, it is reasonable to devote larger study blocks to the specific area while still keeping the common section and writing in the routine.
| Period | Priority | How to execute |
|---|---|---|
| Sept. 9 | Card + diagnostic | Check location, time and accommodation; test the route on a map; complete a short mixed question set and list the errors that repeat most often. |
| Sept. 10–12 | Specific Component | Use two focused blocks for topics where your error rate is highest. Correct immediately and turn each mistake into a short review note. |
| Sept. 13–15 | General Teacher Education + writing | Alternate teacher-education questions with a smaller specific-content block. Produce at least one timed written response during this period and review it for clarity, cohesion and argumentation. |
| Sept. 16–18 | Integration and timing | Do mixed timed sets. If your routine allows, take one long mock exam; otherwise split the practice into two blocks and preserve time to review mistakes. |
| Sept. 19 | Light review + logistics | Do not open major new content areas. Review recurring errors, confirm the route, ID and pens, and reduce the study load. |
| Sept. 20 | Execution | Use the card to confirm the destination, arrive at the venue at 12:00 p.m. Brasília time and follow the identification and security rules in the notice. |
How to practice the written response without consuming the final days
Instead of trying to write many complete essays, use short exercises that you can actually review. In one study block, identify the thesis, select two or three supporting arguments, write an organized response and reread it looking for logical gaps, repetition, weak cohesion and problems with standard Portuguese.
A useful final-week test is to compare your own responses: is the newer one more direct? Does each paragraph have a clear job? Do the reasons support the thesis? Does the ending close the argument instead of merely repeating the opening? This kind of review aligns with the criteria explicitly listed by Inep without depending on rigid templates.
Final checklist so logistics do not cost you the exam
- On September 9, save the Confirmation Card and check the registration number, date, time, location and specialized accommodation, when applicable.
- Before September 20, plan the route so you can be at the test location at 12:00 p.m. Brasília time.
- Separate a valid identification document and a black ballpoint pen made of transparent material.
- If you plan to use a digital ID allowed by the notice, check the official app in advance and, if possible, carry a valid physical alternative as well.
- Switch off alarms and electronic devices before entering the room and keep them in the object envelope as directed by staff.
- On the day before the test, review mistakes you have already mapped instead of starting large new topics.
Dates, test structure and administration rules were checked against Inep's notice about the Confirmation Card, the official PND guidance and Notice No. 67 of May 22, 2026.
