Applications for Porto Alegre's drawing for fixed taxi-stand spaces are open from September 25 to October 9, 2026, until 11:59 p.m. EPTC Notice No. 001/2026 provides 34 spaces across 14 fixed stands. Participation is not open to every driver: it is intended for taxi service authorization holders registered with EPTC who meet the requirements announced by the city.

Who can take part in the drawing

According to the Porto Alegre city government, an authorization holder for individual public taxi transportation may apply if properly registered with EPTC, current on legal obligations and without a Special Parking License.

Applications from lessees, drivers or proxies are not accepted. In other words, driving a taxi or working under a vehicle prefix is not enough by itself: the application must be submitted by the eligible authorization holder.

How to apply by October 9

  1. Access the EPTC online form during the application period.
  2. Enter the authorization holder's CPF taxpayer number and the taxi prefix number.
  3. Complete confirmation through the link sent to the registered email address.
  4. Check the preliminary applicant list on October 23.

The deadline is October 9, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Because confirmation depends on the registered email address, applicants should check their contact details in advance and avoid leaving the procedure until the final minutes.

How many spaces are available

The corrected table announced by the city lists 34 spaces at 14 fixed taxi stands. Highlighted locations include the new stand at General Lima e Silva and Venâncio Aires streets, with 5 spaces; Marcílio and Getúlio, with 4; and Madre Ana and Oscar Pereira, Jardim Planalto, and 1º de Setembro and Bento Gonçalves, with 3 spaces each.

The notice also provides that stands with fewer than five currently registered taxi prefixes may be converted into open stands. Applicants should consult the official table linked to the notice for the full distribution and any corrections.

How the November drawing will work

The public drawing is scheduled for November 25, 2026, at 9 a.m. The venue will be announced on November 6. Authorization holders with approved applications must arrive one hour early for registration and placement of the taxi prefix in the draw container. Anyone not present by the time it closes will be disregarded.

Spaces reserved for accessible vehicles will be drawn before the remaining spaces.

The official schedule states that appeals are submitted by email during the indicated periods. Since deadlines and documents can be affected by corrections, applicants should review the official notice and annexes before each stage.

What to check before requesting a space

  • whether you are the authorization holder registered with EPTC;
  • whether your legal obligations are current;
  • whether you do not hold a Special Parking License;
  • whether your CPF, taxi prefix and registered email are correct;
  • which of the 14 stands and spaces in the official table matches your interest;
  • the approval, appeal and drawing attendance dates.

The key distinction is between applying and being selected: submitting the form places the authorization holder in the process, but participation in the drawing depends on application approval and compliance with the required stages. EPTC's page and the official documents for Notice No. 001/2026 are the main sources for updates.
