The official FGTS list, updated on September 4, 2026 at 9:54 a.m., shows 36 municipalities with FGTS Disaster Withdrawal (Saque Calamidade) application deadlines between September 6 and 30. The most urgent case is Bujaru, Pará, with a September 6 deadline. Because the list changes when new municipalities are enabled or new disaster events are registered, check the official FGTS Disaster Withdrawal page immediately before submitting an application.

Pay attention when a municipality is shown with a Portaria number. Careiro, Amazonas, and Santa Vitória do Palmar, Rio Grande do Sul, for example, also appear on the official page under other recognition acts with later deadlines. The applicable deadline depends on the disaster event and the corresponding authorization; do not assume that the later date applies to every affected address.
Who can apply for the FGTS Disaster Withdrawal
The withdrawal is intended for workers whose residence was affected by a recognized natural disaster and whose municipality has been enabled for the program. FGTS states that a worker may withdraw up to BRL 6,220 from each linked FGTS account, limited to the available balance. As a general rule, a minimum 12-month interval between withdrawals for the same reason also applies, except where specific legal exceptions exist.
A local emergency or calamity decree by itself is not enough. The process includes the local decree, federal recognition and municipal authorization. The municipality provides the required information and, under the applicable rules, CAIXA registers/enables the municipality for the FGTS Disaster Withdrawal. If the city does not yet appear on the official list or in the app, FGTS instructs workers to wait for the authorization. The municipal process is described on the official public-authority guidance page.
How to apply in the FGTS app
Under the current flow described by FGTS, the application can be started without visiting a branch:
- Open the FGTS app and tap “Solicitar seu saque 100% digital” or open the “Saques” menu.
- Select “Solicitar saque” and then “Calamidade pública”.
- Complete the security step with login and password if requested.
- Read the conditions, tap “Solicitar Saque”, enter the municipality name and select it from the list.
- Choose the type of proof of address and enter the ZIP code (CEP) and house number.
- Choose how to receive the money: credit to a bank account at any institution or an in-person withdrawal when that option is available.
- Upload the documents, take the required selfie, review the attachments and confirm the submission.
After submission, CAIXA reviews the individual application. If the information and documents are accepted, the funds are released according to the selected option. In a recent notice, CAIXA also reiterated that the payment account may be at CAIXA or another financial institution at no charge; see the September guidance example.
Documents to prepare before starting
- Identity document. CAIXA guidance lists documents such as Brazilian ID (RG), driver's license (CNH) and passport among accepted examples.
- Proof of residence in the worker's name, issued within the 120 days before the emergency or calamity decree.
- Selfie with the identity document, following the app instructions.
- CPF (Brazilian taxpayer ID).
- If the proof of residence is in a spouse's or partner's name, a marriage certificate or public deed of stable union.
If the worker does not have proof of residence in their own name, FGTS provides alternatives: a municipal declaration confirming residence in the affected area or a self-declaration containing full name, CPF, date of birth and full address including CEP. In the latter case, CAIXA checks the information against official Brazilian federal government databases.
For in-person service, the official documentation also mentions a physical or digital work card (CTPS), or another document proving the employment relationship. This proof of employment is specifically listed for branch service.
What if the municipality does not appear in the app
If a local decree exists but the city is not on the current list, that does not mean the worker can already apply. The FGTS page states that only enabled municipalities are displayed. Authorization depends on the institutional process and on CAIXA's action after federal recognition and the public authority's required information.
For that reason, do not rely on old lists, screenshots or social-media messages as proof of eligibility. The best operational check is to confirm the municipality on the updated official list and then verify that it appears under “Calamidade pública” in the FGTS app.
Quick checklist to avoid missing the deadline
- Confirm that the municipality is on the official list and check the exact date for the applicable event/Portaria.
- Prepare ID, CPF, proof of residence and the selfie.
- If the address proof is not in your name, prepare the declaration or marital/partnership document allowed by the rules.
- Submit before the last day; do not leave document uploads until the deadline.
- Track the request in the app because approval depends on CAIXA's review.
Official sources and update date
The deadlines in this article were checked against the FGTS current-municipality list, which shows an update timestamp of September 4, 2026 at 9:54 a.m. Municipal authorization rules were checked on the FGTS guidance for municipalities, and the application/document flow was cross-checked with the FGTS page and recent CAIXA guidance. Because the list is dynamic, verify the official source again before submitting.
