The ETEC admissions exam for the first semester of 2027 includes a specific offer of 1,920 free places in technical programs taught in the evening at 39 CEU education centers in the city of São Paulo. According to the São Paulo Municipal Education Department, 1,365 places are in modular technical programs and 555 are in upper-secondary programs combined with a technical qualification, identified in the admissions process as M-Tec-N. Applications are open until 8:00 p.m. on November 3, 2026.

For students interested in a CEU location, the main steps are to choose the correct format for their current schooling, confirm the unit and course in the official catalog before paying, pay the R$ 50 application fee by the deadline, and prepare for the exam on December 6 at 1:30 p.m. The São Paulo Municipal Education Department published the CEU list and the overall distribution of places, while the official ETEC Vestibulinho website is the operational source for applications, rules, dates and current course availability.

Who can apply

Eligibility depends on the format selected. For the first module of a technical program, candidates may apply if they have already completed upper-secondary school or are regularly enrolled from the second year of upper-secondary school onward. The official rules also accept specific documentation from EJA, ENCCEJA and, in the cases covered by the admissions regulation, Enem certification.

For upper-secondary programs combined with a technical qualification, M-Tec-N, students enter the first year of upper-secondary school while beginning vocational training. They therefore need to have completed lower-secondary education by enrollment or present the completion documentation required by the admissions process.

Candidates need their own CPF number to apply. Anyone without internet access may contact an Etec to check when a computer terminal is available for applications. Full eligibility rules are listed in the official frequently asked questions.

How the 1,920 places are divided

  • 1,365 places: modular technical programs for students who have completed upper-secondary school or are enrolled from its second year onward.
  • 555 places: upper-secondary education combined with a technical qualification, M-Tec-N.
  • 39 CEUs: units located across different parts of the city.
  • Schedule: the CEU offerings highlighted by the city are in the evening.

The municipal list includes areas such as Business Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, Legal Services, Logistics, Accounting, Events, Tour Guiding, Commerce, Systems Development, Information Technology and Quality Management.

Courses and CEU units

The table below organizes the 39 units cited by the Municipal Education Department. To avoid choosing an outdated option, confirm the course in the official ETEC unit and course catalog when applying, since the live admissions system is the operational reference for course, schedule and available places.

One discrepancy found on September 18: the municipal news article lists Business Administration, Information Technology and Marketing at CEU Quinta do Sol, while the active Vestibulinho catalog for that unit lists Information Technology, Logistics and Marketing. When applying, follow the option shown in the official Vestibulinho system.

Fee, payment and number of applications

The application fee is R$ 50 per application. Payment can be made by bank slip or by credit card through the payment tool inside the official website. The Vestibulinho states that Pix is not accepted as proof of payment.

A candidate may submit up to five separate applications for different programs, but each application must be completed separately and requires its own R$ 50 fee. Candidates applying to upper-secondary education or the first module of technical education may also be able to indicate a second choice of course or schedule, including at another Etec or extension, depending on the options available in the system.

The deadline to request a 50% fee reduction was from August 17 through September 1, 2026. As of September 18, that request period has ended. Candidates who filed an appeal against a rejected reduction request on September 16 or 17 should check the result scheduled for September 29.

How to apply

  1. Use only the official ETEC Vestibulinho website.
  2. Check the desired CEU unit and course and confirm whether it is modular or M-Tec-N.
  3. Verify the schooling prerequisite before completing the form.
  4. Register using the candidate's own CPF and create a password for the Candidate Area.
  5. Complete the application, review the information and select the option available in the system.
  6. Pay the R$ 50 fee by bank slip or credit card through the official website and monitor payment confirmation.
  7. Return to the Candidate Area on December 2 to check the exam location.

Centro Paula Souza warns that fake pages are using the Vestibulinho name. The official address is vestibulinho.etec.sp.gov.br. Candidates should not submit personal data or payments through any other website.

What the exam is like

The exam will be held on December 6, 2026. Gates open at 12:30 p.m. and close at 1:30 p.m., when the exam starts. Total test time is four hours. For upper-secondary and technical education, the exam has 50 multiple-choice questions, each with five alternatives and one correct answer.

Candidates should bring an original identity document accepted under the rules, a blue or black ballpoint pen, a No. 2 pencil, an eraser and a ruler. Mobile phones and smartwatches must remain switched off throughout the exam.

How to choose a course and unit

Before completing the application, compare three factors: travel to the CEU in the evening, the format that matches your schooling, and the professional area of the course. Students already in upper-secondary school or those who have completed it should focus mainly on modular options. Students completing lower-secondary education who want to take upper-secondary school together with vocational training should look for M-Tec-N options.

Because the live catalog may be adjusted, the final decision should be based on the unit page within the Vestibulinho system. This check is especially important when a promotional news article and the operational catalog show different information.
