I lost my Mais Aracaju card: how to block it, ask for a second copy and recover the credits

The procedure changes depending on the type of card. See what to block first, when the balance can be recovered, what fees appear on the official pages and how to request a second copy.

Losing the Mais Aracaju card does not lead to a single procedure. The answer depends on which card disappeared: School, Transport Voucher, Personalized Pre-Paid, Individual Pre-Paid or a free modality. For cards linked to a person, the most important step is to block the card as soon as possible and only then ask for a duplicate. In single Prepaid, the situation is different because the card does not have user identification.

The official pages were checked on August 18, 2026. On that date, the fare paid by users on public transport in Aracaju remained at R$4.50. This turns a six-fare fee into R$27, a ten-fare fee into R$45, and a five-fare fee into R$22.50.

There is one point that deserves attention before making any payment: AracajuCard's official pages are not fully synchronized. The Service Fees general page informs six rates for the 2nd copy of School, Urban Transport Voucher and Personalized Prepaid. Escolar's main page also informs six rates. However, 2nd copy instruction pages still display five rates for School and Prepaid. Therefore, when there is a discrepancy, the value that appears on the User Portal or is confirmed by VAL at the time of the request must prevail in practice.

First: find out if the card is linked to your registration

The AracajuCard User Portal brings together balance consultation, statement, card status, blocking and request for a duplicate. VAL, a virtual attendant via WhatsApp at (79) 3045-2550, also offers blocking, unlocking and requesting a second copy for School, Transport Voucher and personalized Pre-Paid.

The logic is simple: if the card is linked to your registration, there is a way to invalidate the lost card and issue another one. If it is a separate Pre-Paid, without identification, the official page itself only attributes the possibility of blocking to the personalized model. In this case, it is not safe to count on recovery of the balance of the lost item.

School Card: block before requesting a 2nd copy

The Mais Aracaju Escolar is personal and non-transferable. The current School card page advises that blocking can be done on the User Portal, by phone or WhatsApp (79) 3045-2550 or at AracajuCard customer service. The same page informs that the 2nd copy must be requested online at the User Portal or through VAL.

As for the rate, there is official disagreement. The Escolar main page and the general Service Fees page show six current rates. With the fare of R$4.50, this corresponds to R$27. The General Instructions page for 1st and 2nd copies of School still shows five fees, equivalent to R$22.50. As the two pieces of information coexisted on August 18, 2026, it is not recommended to assume the lower or higher value without checking the invoice generated during the service.

The instructions page informs a deadline of two business days after payment of the fee and ID as a document to receive the 2nd copy. The In-Person Service page informs that the collection of 1st and 2nd copies of the School card can be done at CEAC Rua do Turista, on working days, without scheduling this type of collection. Before leaving home, it is worth confirming the production status on the User Portal.

Regarding credits, the User Portal allows you to check your balance and statement and is the same environment used to block and request a new copy. The current public documentation does not present, on the Escolar specific page, as direct a sentence about the transfer of the balance as it does for personalized Pre-Paid and Vale-Transporte. Therefore, the most prudent thing is to block immediately and confirm in the duplicate process itself how the existing balance will be treated, without assuming that credits used after the loss will be returned.

Transport Voucher: the new copy transfers linked credits

For those who use Mais Aracaju Vale-Transporte, the User Portal allows you to monitor credits, block the card and request a duplicate. The Vale-Transporte instructions page informs the rate of six current tariffs, currently R$ 27, within two business days after payment of the fee invoice, ID for receipt and request via the User Portal or VAL.

There is a clearer official indication of the balance in this modality. The instructions page itself describes the “Transferred” status as the occurrence of credit transfer upon request for a new copy. This means that the way to preserve the linked value is to block the lost card and complete the issuance of the replacement, rather than just asking the company for a new charge.

The In-Person Service page informs that the collection of the 2nd copy of the Vale-Transporte is done at CEAC Rua do Turista, on working days, without scheduling. CEAC also publishes a specific service for collecting 1st and 2nd copies of the Vale-Transporte requiring an official document with a photo.

Personalized prepaid: it is the clearest case of credit recovery

Mais Aracaju Pré-Pago exists in two versions: personalized, with user identification, and separate, without identification. In the personalized case, AracajuCard expressly states that the card can be blocked in case of loss or theft, preserving the credits existing at the time of blocking. After requesting the 2nd copy, these credits become available for use again.

There is also rate divergence here. The general Service Fees page charges six fees for Personalized Prepaid, which represents R$27 at the current rate. The page

Pre-Paid 1st and 2nd copy instructions also register five fees, or R$ 22.50, and inform a deadline of two business days after payment of the fee, ID for receipt and request on the User Portal.

The difference between these official pages is precisely the reason not to pay based on an old capture, post or memorized value. Block it, initiate the request through official channels and check the amount actually issued on the invoice.

Separate pre-payment: don’t count on blocking or recovering your balance

Separate Pre-Paid is sold without user identification. In the official description, the possibility of blocking in case of loss or theft is attributed to the personalized model. This is decisive: without a nominal link, there is no official basis for promising that the lost single card will be blocked or that the balance will be transferred to another card.

If the lost card was a single item, it is still worth contacting AracajuCard to report the case, especially if you have the card number or some proof. But the practical expectation should be different from that of the personalized card. The security of recovering credits is associated with the identifiable and blockable card.

To reduce this risk in the future, those who frequently use Pre-Paid can evaluate the personalized version. The main difference, in this context, is not aesthetic: it is the existence of a registration that allows the card to be linked to a person and activate blocking and duplicate services.

Free fees: the block exists, but the fee and location depend on the modality

In free payments, the problem is not recovering a paid balance in the same way as in Pre-Paid. The objective is to invalidate the lost card and restore the benefit in a new copy. The AracajuCard pages for Senior and Special inform that the card can be blocked and that the second copy costs ten current tickets. With a fare of R$4.50, this corresponds to R$45.

For Mais Aracaju Especial intended for people with disabilities, the specific page informs that, in case of loss or theft, the 2nd copy requires an identity document and police report and charges ten tickets. This same page states that there is no new biometric collection in the second copy. Other gratuities and functional cards may require their own documents, such as the last payslip or proof of the relationship that entitles you to the benefit.

There is also a disagreement between official pages regarding the in-person location. The specific Special page directs loss and theft assistance to SMTT at Galeria Farol Center, while the general Service Fees page mentions CEAC Parque Shopping for the Elderly and Special. As this difference can lead to unnecessary travel, confirm the correct point at (79) 3045-2550 before going in person.

How much does it cost today, considering the fare of R$4.50

The City of Aracaju informed in March 2026 that the user fee would remain at R$4.50 during 2026. Thus, when the official page says six fees, the calculation is R$27. When it says ten fees, the value is R$45. On the instruction pages that still display five fees, the result is R$22.50.

The important point is not to silently choose one of these numbers. For Escolar and Custom Prepaid, the inconsistency between official pages is documented in

check from August 18, 2026. The safest procedure is to confirm the amount on the User Portal or with VAL before completing the 2nd copy.

What to do if you don't remember your card number

The User Portal accepts access by email, card or document, according to the AracajuCard page. If you lost your card and don't have the number written down, try to regain access using your registered details. The portal shows balance, statement, card status and blocking and duplicate services.

If access does not work, use the account recovery option or contact VAL on WhatsApp (79) 3045-2550. For those faced with loss, theft or theft, resolving the blockage first is more important than looking for perfect withdrawal information: each use made before the blockage can reduce the available balance on the lost card.

Practical summary by card type

At School, there is blocking and 2nd copy via the User Portal or VAL; the fee appears as six fees on the general pages and as five on an instructions page, with a stated deadline of two business days after payment. In Vale-Transporte, the official rate is six fares and AracajuCard's documentation provides for the transfer of credits with the issuance of the new copy. In personalized Prepaid, the block preserves existing credits and the 2nd copy returns access to the balance, although there is also a discrepancy between five and six rates on official pages. In single Prepaid, without identification, there is no official basis to guarantee blocking or recovery of the balance. In free cases, the card can be blocked and the second copy usually costs ten fees, but documents and service location vary depending on the benefit.

In any identified modality, the safest sequence is to block, request a second copy, check the rate generated, monitor production and only then withdraw. When official pages differ, use the customer service channel to confirm the current data instead of choosing the most convenient value or the first result found.
